About Us

Wedding Officiant - based in Kankakee Co. IL,
serving all of IL / IN & willing to travel beyond.
I am happy to unite any adult couple, acknowledging their love, the way they want to. I write personalized ceremonies for Weddings, Elopements, & more - Hand-fasts, Commitment Ceremonies, Renewal, House Blessings, Baby Naming, other Alt life ceremonies & Celebration of Life Memorials.

As a crafter, I offer to make your Hand-Fast cord for a small, but separate fee.
Hand-fast cords are 3 colors of wide satin ribbons, finished with small charms.

Previously, I offered many craft services. However, at this time, I am only offering Hand-fast cords to my Booked Ceremony couples.

How We Got Started

I always loved Weddings & figure every adult deserves to declare their love of their partner, no matter How they LOVE.
Actually, I started offering Commitment Ceremonies for LGBTQ+ folks in 2004, before we had Marriage Equality. In 2009, when I was married, we wanted a Hand-fast as part of our Scottish wedding, but it was not available to us. We did have a Bagpiper though! While researching more into it, I began studying various religions, including Pagan, Wicca, and more in Celtic traditions. I had to offer what I could not find in time for our own.

I always adored folks who express themselves authentically, without regard for others' opinions of it.
I love LOVE, Couples, People in Love, Rainbows, Queer Folks, Halloween, Black Cats, Witches Hats, any chance to Dress-up and folks who march to their own drummer (especially is accompanied by bagpipes.)

As an Officiant, I'd love to see good communication & cooperative working environment between Venue coordinators with our couples & with us as vendors. Too often my couples think a venue coordinator is avail as a Day of Coordinator, to find out too late there is not one, or that Officiants are... (more) As an Officiant, I'd love to see good communication & cooperative working environment between Venue coordinators with our couples & with us as vendors. Too often my couples think a venue coordinator is avail as a Day of Coordinator, to find out too late there is not one, or that Officiants are dismissed & ignored till the last minute. Way too often I arrive 1 hr + early to take care of things & reaponse is "Too busy, I'll get to you later" then I have Coordinator, Videographer & Photographer all "finally ready for me" in the last 5 mins before GO time. I cannot be in 3 different places at once & response from each "why didn't you take care of that be now" about the others, lol. I might be ordained, but not a miricle-worker. Lol just food for thought.

Working in the wedding industry has more ups & downs than ever before. With my background in Firefighting, we train to constantly access & adapt to quickly changing environments. Currently I am in midst of expanding from part time to a full-time status in my creative endevours, with a 1 yr transition plan. I have accts established with LinkedIn & WordPress, each can be updated & expanded as I am ready with each step. I am looking to establish a website soon.
