My business partner and I have discussed increasing our marketing efforts going into 2019. We spent all of 2018 shaking hands, handing our business cards, and building relationships that has begun to turn into recurring revenue for our business. We are going to take a percentage of that revenue and reinvest into our business through targeted and strategic marketing efforts in 2019.

Often times it is less about doing something "special" and more about just recognizing the people and businesses that have allowed you to get to this point. Be thankful for what has been accomplished, what has been learned, and what you can do to improve everyday.
Following through may be at times the most challenging to do. It requires discipline to sit down, or just stop, and send that email, type that text message, or make that phone call. Following through may be at times the most challenging to do. It requires discipline to sit down, or just stop, and send that email, type that text message, or make that phone call. However, if anyone is serious about developing relationships, follow-up is probably the biggest thing you can do to show someone that they were not just a hand shake and a hello when you met them. It is also important, in my opinion, to include something in your follow-up related to what you talked about when you first met. Again, this shows the person that you actually listened and paid attention when you first met. Yes, your time is valuable but anytime you take that extra moment to reach out in a meaningful way to someone is time well spent. Invest in yourself by investing in others!
It is possible that discounts could work but I would be cautious of doing so. You are in a sense devaluing your service/product offering. You can also set a precedent that others will try to take advantage of which puts you in a cycle that is hard to break.

I feel that word of mouth is a far more powerful marketing tool that anything else. The key to that is getting out and hitting the street. You have to be out meeting people, developing relationships, and taking of clients when they come on board. People's recommendations carry a lot of weight so taking care of clients so that they have every reason to recommend you will always trump other forms of marketing.

The idea is to incentivize someone for referring business your way. The one catch here is to make sure that whatever transaction is taking place is not only legal but ethical. If it isn't, that will reflect poorly on the person referring and the business gaining the referral. Not to mention that tow truck companys have a pretty poor reputation to begin with.

Others could care less. Look for a gym that has the equipment you desire/need coupled with an atmosphere that is conducive to motivating you. Of course, always check out price and what you get for you expense.
Selecting a personal trainer can be even tougher but find someone who you resonate with and will push you when you need but also congratulate you when you've put in the work.
