How We Got Started

In Sterling, CO, I graduated from Northeaster Junior College as an administrative assistant in 1994 and entered the workforce to support executives and teams in government, construction, non-profit, and health care. The construction industry is what I spent 22 of my working years learning intimately.

In the winter of 2021 when the "poke" became a topic of being mandated for employees of certain businesses, I made the decision that I would someday become an independent contractor rather than an employee so I can make my own health care choices.

Fast forward to spring 2022 when the mass resignation economy made it too challenging for my employer to stay in business. When that company closed I formed my own independent practice as Bookkeeper Cate LLC.

I'm putting weekly blogs on my website, then sharing it to facebook which links back to my site.  It is starting to generate a bit of traffic.  The site is worth it for me. Incredible!  My thought is taking them to high-end craft shows.  That would be hard to ship to an online buyer.  Good luck!!! (more) Incredible!  My thought is taking them to high-end craft shows.  That would be hard to ship to an online buyer.  Good luck!!!

1. Print your business info on your vehicles.  When you're in a big parking lot, park near the lot entrance away from other vehicles so it's easier to notice. 2. Offer a referral bonus (restaurant gift card, amazon gift card) to current/past customers to send you new leads. (more) 1.
