Other business owners like Commissioner Chris Caputo—people who care about the ecosystem—forward-thinking, care about business as a whole—care about the community.
We support local seamstresses, with equipment, supplies and instruction, in sewing fabric masks, Rosie-the-Riveter style. We teach sewing via email and FaceTime. We believe that busy hands, constructively engaged, teach people to be productive. Do you sew? Do you have a machine? Would you like to learn? Now is your time! We Can Do It—Safer At Home! I organized the lending library at Trash 2 Treasure Creative Reuse Center, and supervised volunteers. There, I pictured a community of fabric and sewing donations—united in saving the ecosystem, through reviving the ancient art of sewing. I took home from T2T my first clean, re-usable, recycled fabric and sewing supplies, and had several shows, which did very well.
After purchasing the entire Crafts Library, I attended the Artist as Entrepreneur Institute—right next-door, at Art Serve. I was the only graduate to earn back my tuition in class.
We have fun here!
Friends In Stitches has made memory quilts to honor the memory of loved ones—FedExed a quilt to the victims of the KY tornadoes, and exhibited at Art Gallery 21. We received a Certificate of Achievement from the Committee of Environment Sustainability of Wilton Manors.
We accept unwanted fabrics, notions and sewing supplies from our surrounding town, and give them new life in the community.
