I got this book to help me get started with Wix and it helped me get my site up and running as well as helping me with some custom touches. There is much more to Wix than I was expecting but you need to get the main part of the site done before getting into the fancy stuff. I would say use this book to get your site done and then you can figure out the stuff it doesn't cover or search the Wix help site.

While waiting for the book to arrive I watched a one hour YouTube video from Santrel Media introducing one to WIX. The thirteen pages in this book dedicated to WIX did not cover even half of the material included in the video.
