Steve called me and asked me some questions about my tv. I said I’d get back to him with the error blink codes, etc. I called him back and he said he said it was most likely the SC board, which is a $300 part. Not worth it for me for an 11-yr-old tv, no matter how great the picture. No charge, but great service and advice! I ordered the board on EBay for $100 & will try to replace it myself.

Steve arrived within 2 minutes of agreed to schedule. He promptly reset TV settings and took the time to show me the proper procedure. He also added the TV to our WIFI network. I didn't know that this TV had that functionality. Thank you Steve.

Unbelievable!! The fastest service call EVER. Only 15 minutes from phone call, to the ring of my doorbell. The very courteous technician quickly discovered and fixed the problem. It was only a wire/cable that he needed to replace. Obviously, a very honest person, as he didn’t try try turn this small problem into a bigger issue. Thank You

Steve was very prompt and friendly. He arrived about an hour after I originally called him and explained my situation. He explained in detail what needed to be fixed, and shortly after my tv was working again. The bulb on my TV went out and I called Bob's TV Service on Angie's List. I talked to Steve on the phone and he said he could come to my home the next morning to repair my TV. Steve arrived on time and replaced the bulb with no problems. He explained that the bulb should last 1 to 2 years and if it didn't there may be another problem going on. He was very knowledgeable and informative. We are very satisfied with the service.

Steve repaired the tv at his place of business and returned it in good shape! He spent time with us explaining how to set the tv colors and other items regarding a DVD hookup. Very professional. Highly recommend.

terrific, he arrived on time and knew exactly what to do, he removed TV from wall repaired with replacement parts and put back on wall, conducted full testing. All took about 30 minutes.

Technician not only called ahead and was on time, but was professional and competent. He replaced the chip and cleaned the interior of the TV, and helped us to get the best audio function from TV and surround sound. Don't know if it was the chip replacement or the cleaning, but the picture is sharper and colors are brighter now. Great service call. Would recommend.

My one-year warranty had lapsed and it was in need of repair. The repair would have cost $700 so it was easier just to purchase a new TV. One of the gentlemen, Steve, helped me choose a new TV at Target and then he brought the TV to my house and mounted it to my wall for me. They are a family-owned business and their customer service is outstanding. I would recommend them to anyone!

He was hands on from the time he showed up, to the hook up and programming he provided. (details above) I recommend everyone call him first.... you won't need another call.
Description of Work: He was the best!! My problem... Samsung TV clicked, but could not start. He first took the entire back off my 50" Samsung to check the problem and found a bad card).... after a few calls, he later informed me there are no businesses that have a new carrd.... and to order a new one, would cost close to $300.00. He explained all options and I decided to buy a new TV which was $550.00. He then came on a Sunday to hook it up, program all my connections, etc. ( Frankly, I would still be working on it) The grand total he charged for all his work and information for both days was $210.00 I will recommend and call him again!! He was the most honest person... and the first to not sell or fix things to take advantage of me for that almighty dollar. I rate him a very capitalized A!!!

I did some research on the Internet and determined that recent large screen Panasonic's have experienced this problem. Two of the main circuit boards are fastened with screws without lock washers. Due to vibration and thermal expansion and contraction, the mounting screws can loosen over time. When the screws loosen, the circuit boards can start to vibrate or buzz. Service was very prompt. I called at 10:00 AM and Steve was at our door by noon. He was very familiar with the problem and came equipped with a repair kit of eighteen screws equipped with lock washers. The job was completed in less than 30 minutes and the buzzing has been eliminated. Steve also helped my wife (deaf in one ear) install a special earphone that aids in her TV watching at night....very nice.
Description of Work: Panasonic TC-P60-S30 repair out of warranty. TV started buzzing about a week ago. The noise sounds to be getting louder and is causing some concern.

I had reported a problem with my Panasonic plasma TV regarding the picture. The service rep called before coming out and was actually early for the appointment. He asked several questions about the picture problem I was having and he traced the problem to a bad HDMI cable as the cause of the problem. I had a spare HDMI cable and we put the new cable in. The picture problem(intermittent flickering on and off of thepicture)was completely fixed. The service rep also volunteered to program our cable remote control(no charge). He was very professional and knowledgeable and I would highly recommend Bob's TV in the future.
Description of Work: Checked out TV performance under warranty. The service rep found that my problem was not with the plasma TV but with the HDMI cable I was using

After the unit went defective we called Bob and he advised that there was probably a defective replacement part and when they had another job in our area they would pick-up the unit and make the repair. Weeks went by and they did not show to pick-up the unit. I called again and talked to Bob, he advised he was sorry about the time but would pick-up the unit soon and make the repair. This was initiated on 6/22/2012 so we believe we have exercised a good deal of patience throughout this process. As of this writing he has not picked-up the unit for repair and we are tired of chasing him to get the work done. We have a dead flat screen TV and are out $313.50. Based on our experience we cannot get them any other rating than an F. On the positive side they were always cordial and told us what we wanted to hear. They just did not execute on what they said they would do to make the repair so the unit would work.
Description of Work: Bob's organization picked-up the Toshiba Model 42HL186 - SN#:AH322001520 and took it back to their shop to repair. They replaced a Lamp VLT-HC6800LP and returned it to our home. The unit was turned on and worked perfectly. After two days the unit became defective again showing the same indications as it did before.

We are sorry to hear this is how things went. When we dropped of the TV it was working. When new parts fail it is unfortunate, not common, but it does happen. We are sorry that the Toshiba parts did not hold up. When parts fail they must be sent back and reordered. This is a bad situation for you the customer and the technician. We must do the job over again and deal with Toshiba to get reimbursed for the defective parts. And the customer is without a TV for the period of time while Toshiba sends out replacement parts. I apologize if this process was not communicated to you properly. We are sorry for the delay you experienced.
