BUTCHER'S NURSERY INC

My wife and sister's-in-law asked me where they should go to find a small tree they can take with them for planting next to their mom's headstone in Puerto Rico. I told them the only place they should go is Butcher's. They planted four fruit trees for us in the past and we were very satisfied with their selection and personal-care service. Jim was especially sympathetic with the situation and gave them another small Hong Kong Orchid Tree free of charge. Highly recommended.

Order one tree to be installed and he would only except cash up front. Never delivered the tree. Big mistake paying him and will likely never get my money back. Don't pay them up front!!!

Paid them in full with a check. They never showed up to do the work. Went for months with promises and excuses, and then they started to hide from me. Finally gave them an ultimatum; return my money or I would take them to Small Claims Court. Jim said to give him one last chance - the work would be done by April 14, 2015. I said OK. Butchers never showed up. I filed a claim in Small Claims Court and had an initial hearing was held on July 2, 2015 and Butchers offered me a "store credit" only. A store credit is NOT acceptable when I had a contract for a very specific service which they failed to provide in total. That's a breach of contract, pure and simple, and I want my money returned. We now have a trial date on Oct. 29, 2015. I would never trust these people again under any circumstances for anything!!!!! In my opinion Julie and Jim Butcher are complete con artists.

After purchasing 2 trees with delivery and installation....3 weeks later....still no trees or installation. The only thing I received for my money is the runaround and an enormous amount of frustration. I've been dealing with Jim who apparently doesn't work very often, or take phone calls. After numerous attempts to contact him, he repeatedly told me he would be there daily and never shows up....nor does he call to post phone the appointment. He will not issue a refund...only store credit even though he gave me his word that if he didn't show up....he would give me a full credit. He became no longer available after that. He doesn't call back either. I am having to dispute the charge with my bank. I would recommend NOT doing business with Jim unless you just want a challenge and Nothing more.....

Very unprofessional outfit!!! I bought a tree from Jim at butchers nursery at fleamarket Butchers did not deliver the tree that I bought on day that was agreed on. After 2 weeks off me calling almost daily and butchers giving excuse after excuse,the tree was never delivered. 2 weeks late on delivery butchers finally said that the tree would be delivered that same day. The tree to no surprise was not delivered and this actually repeated itself 5 days in a row. "Tree is on the truck , ticket is gone, so it will be there today" Finally I cancelled the order, at which point I had to call at least 5 more times to try and get my money back. After the fifth call I was finally told I could get store credit, not my money back. Apparently they don't care about customers and even less about customer service. Owner apparently is on vacation and Jim is the manager who failed to deliver on his promises Stay away from this outfit, because once you pay them , the service is over!!!!

Ordered two bushes to be planted in my yard and mulch to be laid all around bushes and plants in yard. Delivery of bushes was scheduled for a Monday. They called and asked to reschedule for Thursday due to being backed up on deliveries. On Thursday they called and asked to change delivery to Friday. On Friday they called and asked to change delivery to Saturday. On Saturday they called and asked to change deliviery to Sunday. Finally late Sunday evening they delivered the two bushes and planted them. Delivery for mulch was scheduled for the Monday of the followng week. On Monday they called and asked to schedule delivery for the next week. They have beautiful, healthy trees and plants but their delivery of the items is horrible. Once they do finally arrive they do a good job. They do require full payment in advance.
