Money was paid but work was not performed because after over 5 months of excuses my insurance company finally fired them! The worst worst experience ever a complete nightmare. I read about companies and bad stories like this, never would I expect it would happen to me! They try to sell you dreams and promises of making your property beautiful again better than it was in no time all he while pushing a paper in front of your face to sign! They screw up and come back with more paperwork for you to sign and say it's for something else when it really says they won't be responsible for the mess up, well who do they think should be responsible? 5 months later and , running out of ALE(living expenses) , my house is still in gut mode and they are still promising they will get my house together. Then they send out an elctrician that puts a ground rod that you trip over in the middle of the walkway. Wow ! They lie, lie, lie omg do they lie. You have to stay on top of them with your insurance adjuster on a daily basis otherwise they will blame you for the delays. When the next project manager came I'm so glad I started recording the promises they made to me. I found it humorous when the new project manager would call me and say he didn't say that😂😂😂😂 hilarious, I'm thinking maybe there is a bit bipolar disorder going on. It's pretty obvious from the reviews that the company is having managerial issues in the last year because it looks like they weren't so bad a few years ago. Unfortunately it happens that companies do go downhill with bad management. Do not I repeat do not sign anything because they want you to sign real quick by claiming "so they can get to work and get you back into your home." They sound like used car salesmen trying too hard and making too many promises and it all sounds too good. The company is horrible especially when you have 2 project managers quitting in the middle of nothing being accomplished and they lie to you and say he went on vacation. I'm so thankful I kept the outside cameras to confirm the lies. They don't have enough manpower to do the jobs but they keep taking them and cashing the insurance checks. They destroyed my personal things, left trash outside of my house with no intentions of ever removing it, (because it's still there ) they take short cuts to make more money from the insurance, they put a used toilet in the storage container with my 3 week old fridge not to mention dented it, they forgot items outside that were suppose to be in the container, like my chest freezer. Take pictures! I took so my pictures and sent to my insurance to prove how substandard they were. Proof proof proof because Did I mention that they lie, I can go on and on there's just not enough space or time in the day but I am thankful that they worked for citizens so I don't have to worry about getting my money back, the check was cashed, so citizens can use their resources to get there money back from them. I've been out my house since April 1st and finally citizens fired them and now I have a new contractor and some peace of mind. I definitely would not hire or recommend this company and I hope citizens doesn't recommend this company to work on anyones house ever again.

Look for another contractor, do not proceed with this company. What started as their staff's inability to communicate with each other, escalated to unnecessarily rude/condescending and manipulative behavior, and finally falsified billing. Their whole sales approach is to pit you against your insurance company and then overbill more than what was quoted as well as bill for services that were never provided. I attempted to work with them for more than 7 months to reach agreeable terms, but they will ignore you, provide purposeful misinformation, state they don't have time to deal with you, and then threaten to sue you. Find another contractor.

To respond to my dear contractor, The two bathrooms are not contingent to the wood floor. One is above the garage, the other one is above the kitchen, both far from the wood floor. The rotten exterior door frame is in the kitchen, far from the wood floor. The black discoloration on the wood floor is in the middle of the room, not coming from beneath a wall, not like something leaking from a window. American Leak Detection came and did not find any plumbing leak and any leak in the house and in the areas surrounding the wood floor. The contractor did not perform any moisture test of the slab prior to install the wood floor. An expert from the Wood Floor Association agreed that the moisture readings were off meter scales and he said that it was caused by the vapor transmission coming from the concrete slab. With high humidity from the slab, a vapor barrier needs to be installed. It is installer fault. As stated in Mapei Ultra Bound Eco 985 glue installation instructions: ‘’Do not install in areas with known hydrostatic moisture problems’’ Wood floor manufacturers follow the same guidelines for moisture in concrete.

On April 13, 2015, I entered into an agreement to repair the water damages to my property incurred at this date. On January 18, 2017, I released the final payment for the work performed. In the beginning of 2017, I noticed that sections of the wood floor in the living room and in the office were turning black. I contacted them via email on March 22, 2017 saying that my wood floor was turning grey and black, probably due to a lack of the installation of a moisture barrier to protect the flooring. Kahapp, the Mitigation and Remediation Specialist, came to my home the same day. He took pictures, measurements, etc. He told me that the water was coming from my windows and was leaking under the floor. He told me that he would need to open the walls and dry out the water intrusion and that I needed to call the insurance to open a claim. I did not want to open the walls and to call the insurance. I already had a huge claim and I would be harder to insure. Time passed and the black color spread more and more on my wood floor. I was skeptical about the water intrusion coming from my windows and going under the wood floor. The black spots were in the middle of the floor, not coming from under a wall. I decided to call an expert from American Leak Detection. They came on October 10, 2017. They said that there was no evidence of water / moisture found in the area surrounding the wood floor. On November 21, 2017, an expert from the National Wood Floor Association (NWFA) came home. His report says: the floors are turning black due to excessive moisture vapor intrusion through the concrete slab; this is not a product defect, it is installer error; the floor is damaged beyond repair and will have to be removed and replaced. I sent them a demand letter and gave them until the end of April 2018 to fix the issue. They came to do some testing in February and March 2018. They do not want to pay, they try to escape. I ask to: •refund my expenses of $721; •remove the existing floor (living room , office and entry foyer); •reinstall a new wood floor with the appropriate vapor barrier; •clean the house & windows from dust after work completion.

Response from National Restoration Experts Inc
National Restoration Experts was hired to perform water mitigation and rebuild services after the member’s residence experienced a sewer back up that caused damage to her flooring, drywall and cabinets. We completed the floor installation in August 2016. 7 months later in March she notified us of a suspicious discoloration of the wood floor. Several days later we sent a team out to inspect and access the problem. During that Inspection we performed leak detection and found many areas of the home that had water intrusion from cracks in stucco and poorly maintained caulking around windows and doors including rotten exterior door frames beyond repair. We also found areas in bathrooms that showed high levels of moisture in the drywall which is an indication of an active plumbing leak. The moisture content in the wood floors were completely saturated. At that time we recommended she have repairs done to prevent further damage. We offered to sign her up and help her with a new insurance claim for the damages but she declined our help. The member had a wood flooring expert claim that the wrong glue was used and there should have been a moisture barrier installed. The existing floor that we replaced had no vapor barrier and the glue that we used to install the floor was a hybrid-polymer base wood adhesive with moisture control which was recommended by the wood floor manufacturer. After speaking to the glue manufacturer in detail about the wood floor condition they agreed that if the floor moisture content was so excessive that it was off the meter scale, which they were, there was a slim to none chance the problem is moisture vapor coming up from the slab. Also he stated that if the hydrostatic pressure was that high under the slab to cause that kind of damage none of their products would be guaranteed. The problem she is experiencing is not water vapor coming up from the slab damaging her wood floor. It is water damage from multiple sources that have been ignored.

National Restoration Experts was very responsive following a kitchen sewer line backup. They very quickly were able to provide a scope of work and budget to our insurance adjuster and ensured the work was completed quickly concurrent with other work we were completing simultaneously. They followed-up often to ensure our expectations were met and were very reasonable to work with.

The workers were reliable and helpful. Cliff, in particular, treated our home with such care. Everything was always cleaned up. We were always able to contact Tom with our concerns and questions. It was allot of work to prep the home for the work to get done. All closets and everything in the kitchen cabinets had to be removed. Our personal belongings were all over the home in the areas which were work-free. We are re happy to have ALL work completed- National Restoration made it as painless as possible. Thank s Again, Cliff, Tom and all the others that worked in our home.
Description of Work: We has a water line break under the house. Several areas of the home were were partitioned with tarps to keep the dust only in the areas which work was being completed. The cabinets were removed in the kitchen and the wall in the kitchen, bedroom and garage were also removed to access the plumbing behind the walls. The plumbing lines were repaired and re-routed to the attic. When plumbing was completed- the walls were repaired and painted and the cabinets put back in the kitchen. WE also had granite counter tops installed- they are beautiful!
