STARFIRE AUTOMATIC GATES

This was the worst or one of the worst experiences about building my late sta house. 1st understand that they are two busy doctors who built their dream home after working since 1986. In 2005, the builder installed the gates. I think they should have finished the job and gotten the mechanical part installed with the keypad, it my parents waited 2 years and hired starfire. The prices were out of control, 1. They installed the more expensive, less convenient lift master controls. Gates have to have copper land line, no cell phone control and will only stay open for 9 seconds. If you buzz in a Fedex guy for example, he’s got to run and drop the package to make it back out. If we’re home, it’s ok, you can use the landline and keep The gate open for as long as you need. Starfire programmed 2 cell numbers in just in case we weren’t home and had to let a package delivery in, if you call Them for anything the bill reads 1. Service fee 2. Travel fee 3. Gas fee 4. Technician time and so on. After years of this my mom finally remembered years ago another guy. He charges 99 per call, sometimes nothing if it’s it’s really a little job. He explained to us the system installed was more expensive but less convenient. We have to have an att copper wire line forever even though we have Comcast Internet and phone for the same price. There is a key to the box where pad is but we don’t have it. When I called starfire for it and they wanted to do the service call/gas fee/travel fee/ etc for about $400 to being the key and found out we weren’t using them Anymore the guy yelled at me and hung up on me. I understand they see two immigrant physicians with a 9000 sq ft home so they know to over charge but at least overcharge and give us a Product that suits our needs. Also don’t get so angry that we can afford to be ripped off but we just didn’t want to one last time.

I paid thousands of dollars for this company to install a set of gates that I already owned and an operating system for them. They kept changing the price and when they finally got everything installed my keypad kept getting struck by lightning and would have to be repaired ( only they could do the repairs)... We finally got tired of it after the last time they said they would need to replace it for $5000 which is only a few thousand dollars away from an entirely new system. When we had a new company come out and install our new system they told us there wasn't even a ground rod set for the keypad which is why it kept getting struck by lightning. He also told us that the keypad that they installed was one of the oldest on the market and that nobody used them any longer. 😡These people are doing this on purpose so that THEY have to come out and do the repairs resulting in mega bucks for them and no system for you! Do NOT do business with these crooks!

I paid over $30,000 over the course of a year trying to have security for my property.....this man must have laughed all the way to the bank for my stupidity.....

I HAVE ALREADY TOLD THE STORY IN THE ABOVE SECTION BUT WOULD LIKE TO REITERATE THAT I HAD TO HAVE A DIFFERENT CONTRACTOR COME IN AFTER SEVERAL LIGHTNING HITS TO INSTALL WHAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN PLACED THERE TO BEGIN WITH TO COMBAT THE LIGHTNING.
