concrete repair
+ -1 moreThe scope of the work included the removal of the existing concrete drive and replacement with 4’ new concrete. Work was completed in June of 2021. In September 2021, before the first freeze, all of the control joints were filled with a high quality polyurethane sealant (caulk). This was done at the first signs of cracks appearing in the joints. In early October 2022, one section of the drive separated at the control joint and broke away from the drive. Contractor placed the blame on Indiana weather with freezing and contracting causing the damage. This was only after 16 months and exposure to one winter season. Since the sealant should have prevented any moisture into the cracks of the joints, freezing should not have made an impact to the structural integrity. Concrete work is only guaranteed for 12 months. Conclusion: Poor workmanship and/or materials was the likely cause of the problem. I would not recommend this contractor.
