Good. It started out a little rough with them estimating that the replacement part wouldn't have been in until November, leaving us without heat for several weeks, but they ended up just replacing the whole furnace.

They came out the same day I called and gave me an estimate. I got a couple other estimates by the next day and theirs was the best--comparable price for the furnace and they did not try to slip in a bunch of unnecessary add-ons. Then they were able to install the furnace the day after I called them back. Due to wiring problems in my house they had to go with a more expensive wireless thermostat but gave me that at cost. Chris was very professional and answered questions clearly. I much appreciate that they got the job done fast and the new furnace works great.

I had a maintenance contract with them for years. I would only grade them an "B" because I don't really know about the cost. The only reason that I didn't use them last year was because they wouldn't maintain something, like my fireplace, that was installed by someone else. Which I can see. They wouldn't write up a maintenance agreement for it because they just didn't know, but that was fine.

Our 28 year old Payne Plus 90 gas furnace was making some strange noises, so I needed to get a service tech out to determine the issue. I remembered that we had our A/C unit installed about 10 years ago by Olsen Energy Service, so I gave them a call.The tech (Chris) showed up on time and was a very friendly guy. He showed me several things that were wrong with our old furnace and said it could be fixed for about $900 worth of parts plus labor. We discussed that it wouldn't make much sense to spend that much on a 28 year old unit when something else could go wrong next month. So I agreed that a new furnace would be the best option and his sales manager would call me ASAP. I received a call within 30 minutes of the tech leaving our house and we discussed the options for a new furnace. I decided on a Carrier unit rated at 96% efficiency. The installation was set up for 3 working days later. The installation techs (Dan and Larry) showed up at 8:00 am (right on time), did a great job installing the new furnace, and completed the work by early afternoon. They showed me how to program the new thermostat and answered all my questions about the new furnace. They were by far the nicest guys I have ever had do work at our house. When they were done packing up the old furnace and their tools, they came back into the house and made sure everything was clean and tidy. They brought their shop vac in and left the house cleaner then when they arrived. The entire experience was far easier than I could have asked for. Everyone that I dealt with from Olsen Energy Service was professional but also treated me like an old friend. I highly recommend them for anyone looking for heating or A/C service.

I have a contract with them, so there is no cost. They called me to set up the annual appointment.

Technician came and performed only a 5 min inspection. He said that mainboard needs to be replaced and it will cost me $500 for him to come back for replacement. I asked him how he knew the mainboard was bad as all led lights for the fault isolation are functioning correctly. He told me it was all based on his 30 plus experiences. I asked him if the condition still exists after mainboard replacement, then what? He told me ...then it could be the gas valve. I don't trust him without spending enough time to isolate the faulty component. I refused to pay the diagnosed fee. He called his office and agreed that I didn't have to pay for his 5 min services. A month later, I received a bill stating that I owe them $126. I made phone call to office and they told me that they will talk to technician and call me back next day. I waited two days with no call back. I made another phone call, the guy who answered the phone told me that his technician denied what he said. They are such dishonored people. This is how they are doing their business. It's shame on them for 88 years of reputation. Don't hire them to repair your furnace because they don't have their professionalism to do the job right first time. It ended up the faulty component was a "GAS VALVE".

I've had Olson at my house many times, and the visits have almost always gone really well. I did have an emergency visit for a CO alarm going off, and then had to have them come back again to help resolve the issue, but they were very gracious and waived the cost of the second visit. Installation of the new heating unit went great, and they were very helpful when it came to providing info about what type of unit to get (pros, cons) and what is different about the newer units than the ones as old as mine was. They also came back to make a few adjustments after the new unit was installed. They provide a good service, and I'll continue to use them going forward.

VERY disappointed with Olson Energy this time around! We had them replace the furnace in our rental property a little over a year ago for approximately $3,800. Recently the furnace stopped responding to thermostat changes. We would adjust the heat setting up or down and get no response from the furnace. We called Olson, asked to have a technician come take a look, and scheduled an appointment for 3 days later. After arriving, the service technician took over an hour to determine that the wire connecting the thermostat to the furnace was bad. At that point, we still had an inoperable furnace. I had to ask that he at least reconnect the thermostat temporarily at the furnace (avoiding the broken wire) so that we could keep the heat on. He then informed us that we would be charged both the and quot;diagnosticand quot; fee of $115 PLUS an hourly rate. Together this amounted to $370 to really only diagnose a broken wire. They claim that their fee/rate structure was communicated to us over the phone when we scheduled the appointment. We don't feel that it was, as this was completely unexpected and unreasonable for an hours worth of work. We disputed the amount and were immediately threatened with collection. Suffice it to say, we will definitely NOT be doing business with Olson Energy again.

I worked with Gil, and he was great. Very responsive, always available by phone and accommodating of my schedule. I had two other companies come out and give estimates and neither were as thorough, gave me as many options, or explained things to me as well as Gil did. Both other companies made estimates assuming heating setups that they would have realized were impossible if they had checked the exterior of my house, which Gil did. Olson's price was slightly less than the other guys and included a few more perks, but what really sold me was my experience with them. When PSE finally got my meter installed, finishing on a Friday (two months late) Olson was there the next Monday to do their work. It only took them two days to do a large amount of work and there wasn't a single hiccup. The installers were very friendly, did their thing while I was at work, left my house cleaner than they found it and took care of the inspection with the city and everything. Everything looks and works great, I could not be happier with my experience or the results.

My Bryant electronic air purifier is making a weird high-pitched scree-ing noise, like fingers on a blackboard, whenever it's on. I called Olson. I made appointment for them to come out and see it after they told me it would cost $115 for a tune - up of my HVAC system (which I also need)...and while here, the workman would give me an estimate on repair of the purifier to let me decide whether to approve the extra cost or not. Or so I ASSUMED from the way the saleslady was talking to me. I was happy at first...they could send someone over the next day. So the workman shows up five minutes before the end of the 3 hour window. English is not his first language and it's difficult communicating with him. He can't even HEAR the noise at first. When he finally admits to hearing it, he says, and quot;It's broken.and quot; Gee, really? and quot;It's old. No parts. Can't fix.and quot; Replacement cost? $1300. I say, well, are you going to do the HVAC tune-up now? and quot;That's extra. $136 plus tax.and quot; So I called his office, outraged. The girl who made the appointment refers me to her manager. He shows no sympathy and just coldly backs his workman up. They are unsympathetic and seem to relish that they have just robbed me through deceitful sales practices. The $125 is for the and quot;diagnostic feeand quot; to say, and quot;It's broken.and quot; I and quot;misunderstoodand quot; them when they told me the visit would be for HVAC tune-up. I am extremely angry that I have a bill for $125 for a guy to show up, tell me my air purifier is broken and unfixable, and leave. They need to be much more clear on how they bill. I see on Yelp there have been similar incidents. They sell you an appointment like a Comcast customer service rep, then screw you later.

It was a good job. They cleaned the place and they make sure that they don't have problem with the place they have used. I was happy because they were on time, they finished the work and they said they would be here by a couple of hours. The price was reasonable but I have nothing to compare it to.

BAD! They accepted the service based off my explanation of the issue and the equipment i had. But the technician had not seen the equipment and started off with saying i don't know what to do. He was over for 1hr + tinkering and trying to mess with the heater while on the phone with one of his and quot;helpand quot; buddy. Another technician also showed up and even he knew nothing. Horrible experience. After all of this they billed me for the service when they were totally incompetent and did not fix anything.

They are very good. They are honest, and didn't try to sell us anything we didn't need. I would definitely recommend to others.

The installation itself went great. I had some minor issues with the comapny at first, but once we ironed those out everything went very smoothly. I would definitely use them again.

Furnace was installed in 2002, with an electronic air filter. We bought the 10 year all inclusive warranty. We bought the annual check up service as well. This started at around $100 per year but escalated to $150 by 2012. The services typically went well. However, we feel they installed an undersized furnace because it never seemed to heat well. In 2012, just before the warranty ran out, at the annual service, they said both heat exchangers were rotted out and needed replacement. They did the work based on a Carrier settlement. They charged over $600 for extra labor not covered by the Carrier settlement. The installer seemed to have problems with the installation, but yet we get charged the extra labor. Also, I did not realize it at the time, but we should have not been charged at all because the work should have been done under the warranty instead of the settlement. We called for a service early this year because the furnace was making a lot of noise and vibration on start up and shut down. Now, we are just outside of the warranty and they want $1400 for a fan. They are recommending that we pay for a new furnace instead of this expense. Are you kidding me? Also both filter units in the electronic filter are malfunctioning and we were quoted about $250 each for replacement. Decided to go with just a regular filter instead of paying to restore the unit to working order. I am not sure if this unit ever did anything anyway. It was because of this new incident that I took a close look at our warranty and questioned the previous year charges. They have refunded the charges for the heat exchangers. They said they had lost the paper work. We are very disappointed in the product and the lack of support from Olson for a bad product. We were better off with our old 80% furnace that was still working. We just thought we needed an upgrade. Recommendation: If your old furnace is working well, don't upgrade to high efficiency. It may cost you more than you save for repairs due to all of the high tech parts involved in the newer furnaces.
