WATERTITE GUTTERING

Watertite Guttering (Pty) Ltd was established in 1973 by a Mr Vernon Rosenthal. It was the first Company in South Africa doing seamless extruded aluminium guttering. There was originally only three branches – Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban.

In 1990 there was a management buyout at each individual branch. Watertite Johannesburg and Cape Town was subsequently bought out by the Buildmax group in 1998. Buildmax is a JSE listed Company. The owner of the then Cape Town branch, Nelia Jansen, is now the Managing Director of all Watertite branches owned by Buildmax in South Africa.

Watertite Cape Town established a new branch in George in 1997 and one in Port Elizabeth in 2003. Unfortunately the Johannesburg branch was closed in 1999. The group is currently looking into re-opening the Johannesburg branch.

The current Management of Watertite is as follows:

Cape Town and whole group: Nelia Jansen (23 years service with Company) Cape Town – Operations Manager – Christine Massyn (6 years with Company) George – David Scheun (13 years with Company) Port Elizabeth - Bradley Capes( 2 years with Company)
