You might be familiar with massage therapy, though they are similar in some ways Reiki offers a different approach to promoting relaxation and well-being. What is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that originated in the early 1900s. The word Reiki itself comes from two Japanese characters: "rei" meaning "universal" and "ki" meaning "life force energy." This life force energy flows through all living things. During a Reiki session, the practitioner places their hands lightly on or above the client's body, with the intention of guiding this energy flow to promote healing and balance. What to Expect During a Reiki Session:

A typical Reiki session takes place in a comfortable, calming environment.  Clients remain fully clothed while lying down in a comfortable position or sitting comfortably in a chair. The Reiki practitioner will gently place their hands on or above specific points on the body, following a series of hand placements. Sessions typically last 30-60 minutes. Some people may feel warmth, tingling, or see colors during the session, while others may simply experience a deep sense of relaxation.
