I requested a Kwikset smart lock be installed by the company. The technician provided a quote of $650 total for parts and labor. When the technician/ installer **** arrived, he confirmed the price ($650 for the smart lock and new matching handle), and said it would take twenty minutes. An hour and a half later, he finished the work, and asked for the total plus tax, then added an additional 10 percent for credit card fees, but then requested a Zelle payment in place of credit card. I was not familiar with *****, but made the payment using my ***** Fargo app. In total, $860 was paid, and **** then took our old locks and the boxes and materials for the new locks with him. Afterwards, my wife confirmed that the lock installed is NOT a smart lock, just a simple keypad. The parts cost ranges from $20-80 total, upon looking it up online. ***** Fargo informed us that Zelle is like cash, and we have no way of stopping the payment. We looked at the ****** reviews, and it appears they have use fake 5-star reviews to counter balance several complaints filed against them. We are seeking to get a refund as we will have to re-install a lock in order to feel safe on our own home.
