Peak Exteriors was paid $15,234 for a new roof at the end of May 2023. Ever since then things have been a disaster. The roof was not built up to local building codes (no drip edge, too much shingle overhang, etc). Immediately after the new roof was installed, the kitchen exhaust vent started leaking. Peak ultimately promised to come by and do a thorough exam after a 5 minute hose test on the roof didn't show a glaringly obvious defect, but after 2 weeks just Peaks owner just told me to buy a new vent from him. No proper follow up inspection or analysis was conducted as promised after the first preliminary inspection. Upon reviewing the insurance company documentation it was revealed that he lied about a large scope of the work (over 10% of the claim he filed to ***** **** was fraudulent). This includes calibrating a satellite dish we don't have, installing a non-existent turtle vent, lying about the drip edge installation, and lying about quantities of gutter guard. When I informed him of all this he claimed the drip edge could be installed retroactively but has yet to provide official documentation showing that this is allowed (***** ******* told me it isn't). I told him very clearly he was not to begin any further work without giving me proper notice (2 days +) and getting my approval so I could research drip edge issue. On August 8 2023 I arrive home early to find 2 employees illegally trespassing on my property and halfway through cramming the drip edge into my roof without any authorization from me, or even any advanced notice. The drip edge is not installed according to code (several places aren't even touching the roof sheathing). More minor complaints include Peak trying to bill me and extra $200 for work ***** **** paid for, damage to my front handrail when they placed and then pulled a dumpster on it, leaving nails and trash all over my yard (cleanup was in the contract), and consistently lying about virtually every facet of this project.
