Board Certification and Peer Recognition

Biography: For over 40 years Attorney McManus has been privileged to represent clients in a multitude of real estate, business and commercial  matters and transactions. He also serves as counsel for a federal credit union; has represented commercial lending departments of several financial institutions; serves as a solicitor to numerous townships, planning commissions and authorities; been an approved attorney for several title insurance companies, and has served as a Monroe County Mortgage Foreclosure Conciliator from 2011 to the present.  As a result, he brings a unique and diverse set of skills and experience to each client’s matter.

Biography: Attorney Brian C. Jordan is a Monroe County Native and graduate of East Stroudsburg Area School District. He was a member of the Pre-Law Society while in college at the Pennsylvania State University at University Park, where he ultimately graduated from Schreyer Honors College and the College of Communications with High Distinction. He continued his education in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania at the Widener University School of Law where he was Vice President of the Trial Advocacy Honor Society, Coordinator of the Student Mentor Program, and recipient of the Dean’s Award upon his graduation in 2007. During his law school studies, Brian worked at the law office of Cohen & Cohen and also interned at the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office, the Technology Council of Central Pennsylvania, the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General, and the Dauphin County Office of the Public Defender.

After graduation, he began his law career as an attorney in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania with the Dauphin County Office of the Public Defender where he handled all levels of cases from traffic offenses through homicide charges, from the inception of the case through jury trial and the appeals process. Brian co-facilitated the Dauphin County Mental Health Court Program and maintained a full case load where he focused on the best outcomes for each and every one his clients.

In 2012, Brian and his family returned to the local area and he entered private practice with Cramer, Swetz & McManus, P.C., focusing on private criminal defense and civil litigation. In 2014, Brian became a shareholder of the firm and the firm was re-named Cramer, Swetz, McManus & Jordan, P.C.

Brian continues to focus on all aspects of criminal defense in both state and federal court, at all stages ranging from the initial investigation of any matter through trial and the appeals process. Brian also handles all aspects of DUI defense as well as any traffic and motor vehicle issues. Brian handles civil litigation matters in both state and federal court, including but not limited to personal injury, employment and contract disputes, landlord/tenant issues, and family law matters.

As a trial attorney committed to each one of his clients, Brian has obtained acquittals in criminal jury and judge trials, as well as dismissals of all charges prior to trial through litigation and negotiation efforts. He has obtained significant plea bargains and sentences that have avoided incarceration and lengthy probation despite the requests of police, prosecutors, or probation officers. He has been successful in intervening prior to the filing of criminal charges to persuade police to re-examine their case and not proceed with any further action. In civil matters, Brian has helped clients navigate the court system to obtain the best possible resolution to a legal situation.

Biography: Andy was born and raised in Warren County, New Jersey.  Following graduation from Moravian Academy in Bethlehem, he continued his education in Pennsylvania at Lafayette College where he studied history. After working in the field of Historic Preservation for several years he entered the legal profession. Both during and after his legal education, Andy worked at the law firm of Weisel, Xides & Foerster in Pittsburgh, concentrating in Real Estate and Estate Planning and Administration. In 1995 he returned to Northeastern Pennsylvania and for eleven years was a partner in the law firm of Billick & Wolf in Stroudsburg, concentrating again in those same practice areas as well as in Civil Litigation. In 2006 Andy became Corporate Counsel, then General Counsel for a large company located in Monroe County, PA.  He returned to the private practice of law with Cramer, Swetz, McManus & Jordan, P.C. in 2018 and looks forward to representing the best interests of his clients.

Attorney Gary J. Saylor, II, is a Monroe County native and a graduate of Stroudsburg Area School District. He attended undergraduate college at Delaware Valley University where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Agronomy and Environmental Science. Attorney Saylor pursued a Law Degree from Charlotte School of Law in Charlotte, North Carolina. During law school, Gary participated in the mock trial team and the Charlotte School of Law clinic, where he helped clients establish new businesses and non-profit organizations. In 2014, Gary graduated from Charlotte School of Law and successfully sat for the February 2015 Pennsylvania Bar Exam.

In 2015, after becoming a licensed Pennsylvania attorney, Gary and his family returned to the area. After working for a law firm in Easton, PA, Gary operated a private practice from 2016 through 2018 where he gained valuable experience in the areas of criminal, family, and landlord tenant law.  In 2019, Gary joined the firm Cramer, Swetz, McManus & Jordan, P.C. In 2023, Attorney Gary J. Saylor II became a shareholder of the firm.

Gary continues to focus and practice in all areas of family law by handling divorce, custody, support, and protection from abuse cases. Gary also represents clients in criminal and traffic matters at all stages of the criminal process from investigation through trials. Gary regularly handles civil matters in state court, in the areas of civil enforcement actions and landlord/tenant matters.

Biography: Attorney Gerald Brunell was born in Allentown and raised in Fountain Hill, Pennsylvania. He attended East Stroudsburg University where he majored in Philosophy with minors in Economics and German. During his undergraduate studies, Attorney Brunell founded and was president of the ESU Philosophy Club, and presented papers on the subjects of German Existentialism and Transhumanism at the Moravian College Undergraduate Philosophy Conference.

After graduation, Attorney Brunell was accepted to Widener University Delaware Law School. During his time in law school, Attorney Brunell was the Vice President of Program Development for the Constitutional Law Society, which held debates between professors about current Supreme Court Cases. He also interned at a local law firm, was a judicial clerk to the Honorable Judge Mia Robert-Perez in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas Criminal Division, and also a judicial Clerk for the Honorable Chief Magistrate Judge Mary Thynge in Federal Court. 

After law school, Attorney Brunell served as a law clerk to the Honroable Judge Jonathan Mark in the Monroe County Court of Common Pleas. He then joined the Monroe County Public Defender’s Office, where he represented clients from case inception to jury verdict.  Serving the community as a criminal defense lawyer was a life-long goal, and he treats every case as the most important case.

Attorney Brunell joined Cramer, Swetz, McManus, & Jordan P.C. in September, 2021 where he focuses on Criminal Defense, DUI/DWI, Traffic/Motor Vehicles, Expungement, and Civil Litigation.

Attorney Brunell is a first generation attorney who comes from a working class background and has always maintained values instilled in him by his father:  hard work, compassion for the underdog, and always protecting those who cannot protect themselves. He takes pride in his path to becoming an attorney and has not forgotten his roots.  When not advocating for his clients, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two cats. His hobbies include a fascination with Roman and Catholic Church History, constructing and painting models, and playing guitar.

Attorney Joseph M. Plavin attended Jim Thorpe Area School District before earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Science from East Stroudsburg University. Attorney Plavin earned his Law Degree from Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York. While enrolled, Joseph was involved with the Federal Low-Income Tax Clinic, where he provided supervised legal services to those in need. During the summer of 2021, Joseph served as a Judicial Intern to the Honorable Judge Maria McLaughlin of the Pennsylvania Superior Court.

After his graduation from Hofstra and admission to the Pennsylvania Bar, Joseph served as a law clerk to the Honorable Judge Stephen Higgins of the Monroe County Court of Common Pleas. It was here that he gained valuable insight on the court procedures and legal practices of Monroe County.

In 2023, he joined the firm of Cramer, Swetz, McManus & Jordan, P.C, putting to use in private practice the skills he has learned thus far in his legal career. Through skilled writing, research, communication, and legal strategy, Attorney Plavin strives to find efficient and meaningful ways to assist his clients towards a favorable outcome.

Outside of his diligent work on behalf of his clients, Joe also gives back to his community, serving as a volunteer firefighter/EMT with his local fire department for the last decade. In his free time, he enjoys playing ice hockey, snowboarding and spending time with his family.
