Dear Diary Coffee is one of the few shops in America with a 100% women-led supply chain, from farm to roaster to retailer.

Why does this matter?

On a global level, women are an oppressed—and in some countries, enslaved—demographic. Supporting women-owned and -led coffee businesses in Central America and Africa demonstrates the value we place on the lives of women.

On a local level, Dear Diary Coffee has chosen to partner with Sightseer, a company founded by Sara Gibson and Kimberly Zash. In addition to be phenomenal roasters, Sara and Kim use their coffee industry expertise to discover women-owned farms around the world and import their beans.

Friendship Economy

Dear Diary Coffee is hugely committed to Austin’s friendship economy. We believe customers visit us again and again because we put effort into nurturing our friendships with them. And we also appreciate how every small business in Austin, including us, depends on customers choosing them over national chains. If we want customers to advocate for us, we need to advocate for each other.

Dear Diary Blend

When we partnered with Sightseer, we agreed to switch to their blends with one exception: our signature cold brew. Customers love its rich chocolate cherry notes, and we worked hard to get this blend just right. The beans we use are from Colombia and Ethiopia. Once we run out of our own imports, Sightseer will help us procure similar coffees from women-owned farms and retain all the qualities we love about this blend.

Bat Country

We taste notes of semisweet chocolate and orange blossom with a velvety rose tea finish 

This coffee reminds us of Austin: dark and velvety like a late summer evening on the Congress Street bridge, and just as unexpectedly sweet as seeing all those little bat pups learn to fly. 

It's a bit unusual to take a gorgeous Ethiopian Yirgacheffe and roast it on the dark side, but we like things a bit unusual. We're kinda in love with the gothic vibes this coffee is giving us, while maintaining its inherent Ethiopian sweetness and delicacy. After all, "This is Bat Country, and you can definitely stop here." (- Not Hunter S. Thompson)

This coffee's got some added heft, but hey—we love that about him. Deeply sweet and pleasant, we especially dig this dude on immersion methods (think French press and Aeropress) that allow lots of chewy, chocolatey body to develop.

Love coffee but caffeine does ya dirty? Make Eventide your new sugar boo. The EA "sugarcane" decaffeination process maintains the flavor and sweetness of the bean, meaning your coffee habit can be deliciously jitter-free.

Goes down smoooooth. Makes a kickass shot of espresso and works wonderfully in milk based bevvies like lattes. And don't tell your espresso machine, but it brews up real nice too. Hell to the yeah!
