Our mission is to collect, maintain, and display a diverse palate of native and introduced woody plants for the purpose of educating the public, private, and educational sectors on their benefits, proper identification, planting and potential use in the landscape.

 

What’s In Bloom Today

Arctostaphylos uva-ursi Massachusetts Bearberry is in full bloom today, however you may have to lie on the ground to observe these perfect quarter inch flowering structures. Bearberry is noted as circumboreal, native to all the boreal regions of the earth, Canada, Europe, Russia, Alaska and the Caucasus. Ericaceae family, a sprawling woody groundcover, persistent leaves with perfect one quarter inch, white flowers with a tinge of pink.

With nearly 800 different woody species from all over the world, our collections bring together a vast array of trees and shrubs suited for Western New York’s unique growing conditions.
