I would like to start off by saying that I was so thrilled to find this product. I have been searching in stores for years to replace this identical timer. Item was sent out swiftly by seller. In original sealed package. Unbeknownst to both seller and I, the battery included had corroded severely over the years. Great Product At Such An Affordable Price!
I am so happy that I got this xxl size. We have four people in our household, including 2 kids. This size allows me to cook one big dish at one time so adults and two squeaking kids are all happy. I did not find obvious wear off signs. Everything works perfect. I used it on my burger and I was amazed how fast and even it cooked. No more black burns! (Four regular patties can fit in there perfectly and I cooked about 18 mins). Now I have used it to cook frozen fries, chicken, and fish. Everything came out fantastic. Oh and reheating Pizza! The only thing that was not so satisfactory was the pork chop. I guess I cooked for too long (20 minutes) so it was very hard. Another con is that it has a turning wheel as the timer, occasionally the machine stopped but the wheel was not back to 0 (may ... I am so happy that I got this xxl size. Philps XXL Air Fryer - Very good product. It works. It air fries. Great for young cooks who want to eat healthy fried foods.
At roughly a 15"x15"x15" cube it is not a compact countertop appliance. However, lets be really clear that this thing does in fact do what it is advertised to do. It can hold a full 5lb chicken on a wire rack suspended inside the Air Fryers non-stick square cooking basin. The bottom portion of the Air Fryer is pulled out using the silver handle. That horizontal line you see on the face of the Air Fryer the top of the cooking drawer the basin sits in. The on drawer slides on two high quality commercial grade stainless steel likely ball bearing tracks (it slides that smoothly) Once the drawer is pulled all the way out. The wire rack has standing wire hoop handles on left and right that you use to lift and remove your food from the cooking basin from. This is good technique when for ... Once you lift the wire rack out then the cooking basin which is itself separable from the drawer mechanism can be removed. Keep in mind you are dealing with hot grease so be careful. The cooking basin is lifted out by the sturdy silver handle vertically. The Basin and Handle combination weigh around a pound or two. It is light. The drawer pull handle has a dovetailed shaped male vertical guide that slides inside its corresponding female dovetail shaped vertical track. Lifting the handle with cooking basin vertically frees it. Very slick, well designed and sturdy looking. Not sure if it can take a drop to tile floor, but likely it would survive a vinyl or wood floor fall without breaking. In my view this is a safe well designed mechanism for easily removing and disposing hot grease. Use wise. It is an analogue cooking timer... think old 60 minute kitchen timer... on the face of the Air Fryer that you set for time. Atop is a similar analogue mechanical dial to set the temperature. So long as your kids and adult friends don't play a game of twist the knob with the analogue timer.. it should operate reliably for years to come. Cooking wise. Like I said. It is my opinion this is the best air fryer money can buy. Yes it is large table top cooking appliance, but based upon opinions of my son and nephew who each have one, you can cook just about anything it the Philips XXL Air Fryer Nephew: "first thing I air fried was a bag of frozen french fries, They came out really crispy as if they had been fried in a fryer" "same for motz sticks" "I cooked a steak and it came out crispy on all sides and when sliced open was still pink inside..outside had a nice char to it.. crispy like bacon" "I love this thing because I live in an efficiency apartment without and oven, and now I can cook just about anything" Son: "I put together home made turkey meatballs for Mom last night and they came out fantastic" "We cooked chicken thighs last night, skin on, and they came out like fried chicken. Delicious" So there you have it. The Philips XXL Air Fryer is the real deal. Forget those combination toaster oven air fryer units. Get a dedicated unit. Yes it takes up room, but it has this nifty recessed plug in cord storage area, and as a square, fits neatly on any decent sized kitchen car or corner cabinet/shelf.

We are empty nesters and found we can cook a complete meal, with the exception of heating our fresh vegetables in a regular pot. It is great for fried chicken and fried potatoes. The size is just perfect, cooks fast, little effort, and great for us old folks. The reason I indicated it was not compact is because it is the XXL model. We have used it twice since receiving it and were very pleased with it. We are empty nesters and found we can cook a complete meal, with the exception of heating our fresh vegetables in a regular pot. It is great for fried chicken and fried potatoes. The size is just perfect, cooks fast, little effort, and great for us old folks.
