Slab Sawing

Using Walk behind saws to cut:

  • Roadways, both concrete and asphalt

  • Bridge decks

  • Slab on grade for utility trenches, demolition, or joints

  • Sawing of elevated decks for openings or demolition

Our saws are powered by either diesel, gasoline, or three phase electric and can saw up to 40” in depth.

Wire Sawing

Wire sawing originated in the stone and granite quarries. It is ideal for cutting thick concrete structures.

Multi strand cable with diamond beads spaced evenly is wrapped around a series of pulleys and is continuously pulled through the concrete structure. Virtually, no concrete structure or cross section is too large to cut. It is ideal for cutting piers, footers, machinery bases, and bridge sections.

Our wire saws are either hydraulic or Hy-cycle electric.

Selective Demolition

We provide demo and removal of concrete and masonry. This is done by cutting, rigging, and breaking. We have Brokk robotic demolition equipment that can access areas through doorways and can be used to reach areas that may be unsafe for laborers. One of these machines can do the work of five men with pneumatic jack hammers while the operator is safely away from falling debris.

Wall Sawing

Wall sawing consists of using rail-mounted, motor, and diamond blade system to cut perfectly straight vertical or horizontal cuts in concrete walls or floors. A typical situation where a wall saw might be used is to cut precise openings for doorways, windows, or ventilation shafts. A wall saw can be used in conjunction with other demolition methods or for removal of concrete sections by rigging.

Wall sawing can cut concrete to 24” deep and can be performed by an operator who guides the saw by hand or by remote control. The actual sawing is performed by hydraulics powered by diesel or three phase electric or by Hy-cycle electric motors.

The use of a diamond blade and a wall saw can provide significant cost advantages over other demolition methods.

Core Drilling

Drilling walls and floors are primarily done to pass pipes and conduits through concrete and masonry. We drill from ½” to 56” diameter holes by using core drills that are electric or hydraulic.

Pavement & Slab Sealing

We have completed miles of joint sawing, shaping, cleaning, and sealing. We have worked on roads and airports in Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Washington, DC, Delaware, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. We also seal joints in warehouse slabs.

Hot-poured, cold-poured, two part epoxy, and neoprene compression sealers are used. The proper sawing, shaping, and cleaning of joints are critical steps to ensure the sealant will adhere to the concrete so it can withstand repeated expansion and compression as the pavement slabs expand and contract with temperature and moisture changes.
