We occasionally have seeds available in late summer. Seeds require 90 days cold moist stratification, best planted in fall outside for spring germination. Seeds must be protected from predation. See the USDA native plant propagation protocol database for more detailed information. Seeds planted at other times of year or outside of the Pacific Northwest may need to be artificially stratified to achieve germination the same year. May not germinate the same year planted if not planted in the fall. Seeds have been harvested from wild stock within 1 year of sale and stored cool and dry.
We offer free shipping via USPS ground or UPS to the USA on bare-root dormant plants November thru April and on balled and bagged (B & B) or potted plants year round. If your ground is frozen when your shipment arrives you will need to plant in a pot in a protected area with exposure to light. Bareroot plants often benefit from being planted in a pot for several months to a year before planting in the ground especially if you are not able to plant in late fall or early spring. This plant can be shipped in bagged soil once it breaks dormancy although there may be some breakage of leaves/stems/fronds during shipping which in general will not affect the health of the plant. Plants that were shipped B & B and planted in the summer will need extra attention to watering and sun protection until established.
If you live in the Eastern USA some plants will need to be shipped priority or priority express once they have broken dormancy. We will contact you for an upgrade if needed.
We offer pickup at our nursery year-round in Long Beach, WA or we can arrange pickup/meetup in Salem or Portland (West side)/Beaverton, Oregon. If you order pickup/meetup and you do not live nearby or do not respond to our email inquiry, we will cancel and refund your order.
We only ship plants to British Columbia and other Canadian Provinces by special arrangement, please message me for a custom order. We do not ship internationally.
