My vision for becoming a cabinet maker and woodworker began when I was 4 years old. I watched my grandfather Adolph Wiener working in his wood shop when I was a small boy, and this started my love of all things wooden!

At 6 years old my first real project was a small bench, which now sits in the entryway of my home. My interest in working with wood led me to take classes as a teenager and young adult, in order to have the opportunity to learn more about crafting cabinetry and furniture. Since then I have worked for several large cabinet companies across the United States as a plant manager.

I finally decided to pursue my life long dreams of owning my own shop in 2002. This dream started as a part time endeavor and eventually I became busy enough that I left my full time plant manager job and started Vienna Woodworks full time in the summer of 2007.

The shop is located in rural Minnesota which is barn country! There are numerous barns here that we salvage wood from, in order to refurbish what would have otherwise been burned or mowed down, into furniture that is unique and rare, in comparison to what you can purchase in a local furniture store. (imported cookie cutter furniture). Our furniture is hand crafted and made to last! It is also historical because it was originally cut down from virgin forests that were standing for hundreds of years prior to its use to build barns. Those barns stood for 100 years, or longer, in southern Minnesota where we reside.

Eventually this wood supply will cease to exist, bringing added historical significance and value to this antique wood. and the furniture pieces made from it.

I was asked to make several vanities and some rustic flooring for the DIY show "Bath Crashers", and am currently working on an episode of a show "King of Thrones" with the Discovery Channel. It has been exciting to work with these shows! They have aired on national television, which was something that I never expected, but was thrilled to have the opportunity to do!

Most days I enjoy what I do. Most customers appreciate unique products made from real barn wood. There are always exceptions to this, however, those are pretty rare.

Basically I am an honest, good-natured person who enjoys corresponding with my customers. I sometimes get busy and don't respond immediately to emails because I am out in the shop working (about 16 hours a day most days) I promise to get back to you as soon as I can. If it takes a few days, I apologize! We get very busy with orders most of the time!

Also please note - all of our orders state 6-8 weeks as an approximation. When we receive feedback from customers who say their order took over two months to receive, it has always been within a few days of the 8 week mark. I don't appreciate feedback that makes us look worse than we are!!!! It's too bad folks have to take the time to do that, but we appreciate those who leave positive feedback and we usually do NOT take 8 weeks for orders unless some extenuating circumstance happen; something that happens to everyone from time to time.
