I'm convinced people who say Fleur de Peau smells like Glossier You are only comparing them on first spray. When first sprayed they are very similar. However, on my skin Glossier You stays peppery to the point it's almost smoky before becoming a musky floral skin scent, while Fleur de Peau opens peppery then quickly becomes so aldehydic it almost smells cold. It's like Fleur de Peau is cool bedsheets or cold face cream, while You is like sheets still warm from drying in the sun.
Anyways, I love both but Fleur de Peau has way better longevity on me.

ashleyj317

I think this is my signature scent. Hard to imagine because i haven't found something i truly love more than pure grace. This is what i wanted from byredos Blanche.
It's got that weird, powdery, paper scent that i love without getting gross. In Paris, at pharmacies you can find this little yellow book of fragrant papers to burn as incense. It reminds me a little bit of that. But this is so sophisticated, rich, & long lasting. Ya'll need to stop talking about glossier, that is for the kiddies. This scent is for an adult. Someone confident in being quiet. Someone that lives in their mind, without a care of what anyone thinks. This scent is a moment for you to relax. To come back to yourself. To enjoy the stillness of your life. Magical silence. Crisp cotton. Ever so slightly spicy. The best day.
Reminds me of a discontinued Yankee candle, the scent was called, "brown paper packages" and it was magical.

mschroe090

This is probably one of my favorite musky, skin scents. You by Glossier smells a little weird on my skin so I'm happy to have found one that sits just right. I will admit that it's quite light and takes quite a few sprays for others to notice, but once it's there, it lasts all day. I like fragrances like these because they enhance the natural scent of your skin, not overpower it. If your looking for a intimate, comforting skin scent, test this one out because it is so pretty.
Overall 8.5/10

Loki-Rocks

I was sold a fake one and I was unable to tell from the packaging, it was beautifully packaged, but on sprayIng the scent disappeared in an hour. This was also a blind buy, I had to get a sample of the real fragrance and wow I adore the musky powder and Iris. Im leaving the fake one to macerate a bit, as it smelled lovely, but the alcohol was overpowering and no staying power. I will use it for layeringl

Goldena35

This is ok. On paper it’s pretty close to a love but when I wear it, I think it reads a little too soapy. I layered a little oil (Rosie by RJ) over it today and that softened and warmed the overall profile for me. I am (unfortunately) going to blame it on the aldehydes.I would absolutely use this as a home fragrance.

meredithxx

I blind-bought this because I generally enjoy the ambrette & pink pepper notes, musks too, & everything by Diptyque is impressive, even if it is not a scent I would want to wear. Dear lord, did taking this chance pay off. It was love at first sniff. This could be an everyday/ signature scent. It is long-lasting & beautiful. You will feel clean & pretty with this.

Ajlis

This is what elegance smells like! Fleur de Peau is a light, clean, powdery and musky iris fragrance that calms my breath and clears my mind. Beneath the sophisticated, timeless floral scent, there is a pepper note, which makes the scent spicy, interesting and modern. Despite its powderiness, the scent is airy and fresh, like walking in a garden on an early spring evening, when the first flowers are raising their heads from the soil. Iris and musk support each other, making the scent balanced and delicate. Fleur de Peau is a skillfully blended, natural fragrance that nevertheless has depth and character. It suits every situation, but above all I enjoy in early spring days, when the snow is melting and I can sense a promise of summer in the air.

Tee

beautiful beautiful iris. it has a hint of mandarin and clean aldehydes, of course powderiness and woodiness of green iris +the complementary carrot are there. it somehow evolves on my skin. sometimes i feel like it is very dry woody-almost like pencil shavings of days gone by. sometimes it is close to skin smooth powdery iris aldehydes. just love!

sprayme

this smells like a fog of powder to me. i had a sample and then had to get a bottle. i love this. my boyfriend liked it too. it lasts a good while on me. i like fragrances that i can spray in the morning and not worry about it lasting or not liking the dry down. it’s an all weather, anytime type of scent. i do like it more in the spring and summer though. i can smell it on me for around 6 hours, which is good nowdays i guess. ive had it for 4 years now and kept it in the dark and it still smells the same.

bellalandia

Very good fragrance. I personally love it. Musky and powdery. This is how I expect to smell when I hear the word powder in a fragrance and yet not a lot of perfumes are like that. It gives the impression of a shy girl that likes books and is a nice support system. When you will hug her, you will feel comfort. Its a mother to glossier you. Mature, smart and fancy.

Coppersulfate

my second review of this because i realized something. i just wanted to let you know that it smells like my grandma's bedroom. the bedroom she read me fairytales in, the bedroom i slept at when i was scared to sleep alone, the bedroom i slept at when my parents were gone, the bedroom i used to hide in when playing hide and seek with my cousins after school. I asked my family members if they agreed and they smell it too!

Sadly she hasnt been around for a long time, but its fragrances like this that remind me of how artistic perfumery can be. she was a loving, motherly, wise and sweet woman from ulukisla, turkey. I will gladly pay 165 euros just so i can smell a part of life with her again.
My signature scent

archerries

Unfortunately I don't like this at all. Extremely soapy with bizarre soft-spicy peppery notes.

Also, having pink pepper notes does NOT make a perfume similar to Glossier You.

ashleyj317

If you love cotton poplin candle by Byredo, you will love this scent. It's clean and fresh but in a cozy way. Not soapy, not sharp but more sudsy, with the window open...on an humid early summer morning...almost dewy.. that's the earthy note. Angelica is our green note here that shines in the beginning. The way this fragrance dances on me throughout wear, is magical. I sampled it for 2 days and then decided to buy a bottle. I tried so hard not to buy another fragrance but this scent feels like me. It feels like home. It's smells like the cotton poplin candle to me, which I've yearned for for over a year, to wear as a fragrance. I haven't done a side by side sniff test but from my memory, i know it's similar. This fragrance is what i wanted Blanche from byredo to be. Blanche has a note that makes me so upset. But i want to like it so badly. Pure grace by philosophy has been my number 1 for as long as i can remember. The projection is weak. The scent stays very close to fabric. Which i love. But wish it did more. This diptyque might be my new signature scent. Need more time with this. Please smell this one and experience it for yourself.

The male equivalent would be L'Occitane L'Occitan Eau De Toilette. Same vibes, way spicier but still crispy
studs

theblondegourmand

Another very musky scent but leaning more aldehydic. Unlike glossier you, liis studied, and other musky type of scents, this is strong and lasts a long time. It's a bit vintage smelling but when I'm in the right mood for it, it's nice.

YenSung

Wow this is a beautiful sensual scent! I usually gravitate towards strong spicy, woody tabacco(y) smells but sometimes I just want to smell clean and this is it for me, unique, sensual fresh and slightly sweet, smells natural and kind of remind me on Guerlain Angelique noir specially on clothes. I'm sold on this one

androidi

Smells like a day in childhood: finding some old, old lipstick in one of granny's drawers and checking it out, but spending most of the time trying to sharpen some old, old pencils that have been dropped too many times and keep on breaking. Granny's roses blooming in the backyard.

Olenchyk

Ok, so this perfume makes it conclusive for me that aldehydes are just not my thing. I always get an impression of a cheap soap bar with something metallic. Not here not yuck anyone's yum, but if you're not into aldehydes like me, beware that it's the first thing that hits your nose.
Iris note feels like powdery vintage lipstick (which I don't mind), and there are also some very soft florals with a bit of a carrot and something else smooth and powdery in the drydown (I don't get much of musk though). Very light scent and I can barely perceive it in an hour or two, but pleasant and inoffensive.

Adjr1087

The aldehydes are STRONG here. I thought I would love this based on the reviews and since it is so often compared to Glossier You, which happens to be one of my favorite scents ever, and I’m glad I didn’t end up blind buying because I just wanted to wash this off… just like someone mentioned below, this smells exactly like very strong scented baby wipes. This is a pass for me.

feuermaiden

Soft, powdery soap. Not my style, but I have to give it up to Diptyque for creating a very non-offensive powder scent. I'm not usually able to tolerate powdery smells, but this is pleasant. Smells like you've just gotten out of the bath and dusted powder all over your skin with a puff. Elevated and clean. Great for anytime, and pretty office safe I would imagine.

Pinobird

someone sold me a fake one. Bottle and packaging are very well recreated. be careful out there!

cluel

smells like baby wipes

Adjr1087

Are the aldehydes too strong on this? I hate soapy aldehydes with a passion. But I love Glossier You and Sonic Flower so I’m dying to try this one.

AzureWhisper

I LOVE IT, it was love at first sniff. I've bought about 30 different frag decants in the past month, trying to find a signature, and this has blown everything else out of the water. It's the only thing I'm certain I want to purchase. It seems like it would work in every season (I'll update later when I've tried it in every season). It's super fresh but also somehow warm and comforting.

I don't smell carrot at all, and it's not even very powdery for me either (I'm not a huge fan of powder). It enhances my skin smell, it's how I've always wanted to smell. Just clean and fresh, like laundry but not – much better. Like the fanciest laundry you've ever had, hung outside to dry in the Mediterranean sun... but so much more. It's hard to describe, and everyone seems to smell something different. Performance is decent for Diptyque. Judging from the other reviews, not a safe blind buy because you've got to smell it on your skin and see how it is.

EDIT: I'm on about my 4th wear, and the aldehydes smell so overpowering today. It's given me a migraine. And it lasts, unfortunately for today! So this might be one I can't wear every day.

GreatGreyOwl

Cold, watery and carroty iris plus metallic aldehydes. I thought this would be muskier and warmer, but it is not. The metallic vibe is not pleasant for me.

midsommarhäxa

Aldehydes done right- with subtlety and in a perfect blend. I’m usually not a fan of aldehydes- they turn into bitter soapy laundry quickly for me and I’m scrubbing. This is a clean girl in a Paris garden, she’s fresh and dewy, surrounded by aromatic plants and florals, and her own sweet natural skin scent. I adore diptyque- perfumery that doesn’t have to scream at everyone in the room and instead leaves people thinking about how lovely you smelled and how classy and timeless you are. I wear a bunch of diptyque as bedtime perfumes, when I want an informal perfume that is comforting and beautiful. This one fits the bill 🩶

Nadiasky

Love it or hate it… for me this was my so far only love at first smell. Right on the mouillette, then on skin. Unisex leaning more feminine, white shirt pure ecstasy essence. Truly a masterpiece by the one and only Olivier Pescheux.

thaochipnd

Too much Musk and powdery. I really don't like this smell.

KKDYLM

A beautifully peppery, feminine fragrance. I feel like this can fall into so many categories. A young, determined scholar; an eclectic entrepreneur; the well-traveled free spirit. This is comfy, understated, and timeless.

anneymn

Perfection. It has really set the bar high for other fragrances, it’s additively good. I definitely get a waxy iris note, a kiss pepper, fluffy clean, unique musk. It lingers all day long on fabric, days on paper. It smells like the highest of quality.

Fleur de Peau is a tribute to the Grecian mythical love between Psyche and Eros. Psyche was the goddess of the soul. Born a mortal woman, her beauty rivaled that of Aphrodite and inspired the love of Aphrodite's son, Eros, god of desire. Fleur de Peau translates to “on the surface of skin”.

PerfumePixie87

This is a master in subtlety. A delicate and discreet musky fragrance. It smells soapy and powdery, and conjures up the image of a bar of soap. An ideal choice for perfume haters or migraine sufferers or those who just wish to smell clean. Fleur de Peau is likely the most authentic ruler of the ‘your-skin-but-better’ category. I’d add this to my repertoire of gym fragrances along with l’eau papier, Initio’s Musk Therapy and Glossier You.

lmnsvgz

A very vintage-smelling, clean powdery scent with something a bit bitter in it. Glossier You smells muskier while this is more floral.

NoseE

smell of chalk powder. But not in a bad way. Dont mind wearing it.

wrongcall

There’s something very strange about it on my skin. At initial spray, the pepper and citrus creates an unpleasant sour note that takes too long to dissipate. First thought: “oh god cat piss.” Drydown is a slightly spicy, clean, and soft floral. Better than the beginning, but not good enough to wait for.

Caroline0504

Fantastic!!!
Very clean smelling, soft, musky and warm, it smells different on different people. Also, it's really easy to wear for any events and at all times of the day.

Orbco97

PHENOMENAL!!!
Best in this scent category. Fresh, clean… done to perfection.

junimo

Someone said this smells like the bottom of a McDonald’s coke cup after you’ve finished it and that is SPOT on. This is an effervescent version of Glossier You, with less hamster-cage essence. Really safe gift to give someone.

Dimitris85

I smelled this scent on a woman and literally got addicted to it. Amazing powdery and musky freshness and Iris just gives something very mysterious to it. I personally get a leather vibe as well which just elevates it to another level. I don't get the woodiness that people talk about. I just get fresh powdery musky floral mystery. I also love that it's extremely long lasting on me (8 hours) and the dry down is heavenly. Totally worth smelling/trying it.

ginandrice

Iris is front and center here, with that cool, slightly waxy powder note—as smooth and pristine as a blank sheet of paper. There's a light dusting of sweetness—earthy, almost wheaty—layered together with a barely-there touch of pepperiness.

Rather than leaning cozy and warm like some powdery musk scents do, the aldehydes here give Fleur De Peau a mild, soapy freshness.

It smells like I'm sitting at an antique kitchen table, freshening up my makeup with a luxury compact. Meanwhile, the morning's dishes soak in a sudsy sink, and a flour-dusted loaf of bread sits, mostly cool, beside the open kitchen window.

This feels like a bit of a modern throwback to me, with a cool, demure femininity that borrows from both classic Chanel and classic Dior, but is significantly milder and less statement-making than either.

Olivegelly

It's basically Glossier You with a strong aldehyde note added.

Narwhal544

This initially smells quite dusty and heavy on the musk. It dries to be a softer, more powdery-violet that's a very clean scent. Slightly similar to Glossier you, but more soft. I like it :)

KittyQueen

I must be anosmic to whatever is happening here because the scent is so faint. It smells like the ice at the bottom of the cup after you’ve finished a Coke from McDonalds. Cold, slightly spicy and waxy.

Coppersulfate

Very weird and beautiful scent. it smells kind of uncanny, like so many things but still its own thing at the same time. Its very hard to describe it. none of the notes are more dominant than the other: they all blend together into 1 thing. i'll say that its way more aldehydic than fragrantica tells you, but it is nowhere near a headache inducing aldehyde. its very pleasant in this perfume actually. But its many other things as. its powdery, its floral, its musky, its fresh, its dusty (very dusty. it smells old, but in the best way possible), its vegetal, its clean, its earthy, its cold and warm at the same time etc etc. its just very intriguing. even though its so many things, the end result is still something straightforward. on me it doesnt necessarily develop or shift. the only difference is that when i wake up, the aldehyde is gone and all the other notes remain. which is very nice, this lasts surprisingly long on me (most fragrances dont).

Since its hard to describe i'll just give it a color: bluish purple gray
it reminds me of the sensation fresh air gives you

overall a solid 9.5/10 itd be higher if it projected more

Scentsitivewoman05

The scent is soapy clean laundry floral, very heavenly. But the thing is, the projection is intimate and it dissapear less than one hour on my skin. For such price point, I dont think this full bottle worth it. Still mix feeling about this and so far I dont think I will upgrade to the full bottle.

tfek

It ticks all the box for me. The blend of aldehydes, pink pepper, iris with the brave muskiness is just lovely. I feel like it describes me as a person. The longevity sucks but hey just spray it again.

Nesne

Sampled this and didn’t really like it at first. I am a powdery perfume hater so sampling this was borderline crazy but hold and beyond…I kept sniffing it and the scent gave me so much nostalgia. Fleur de peau is actually an emotion that is felt when wearing this perfume. It has that makeupy DNA but it’s very very sophisticated. This perfume smells like baby angels, it smells innocent yet sharp. It’s mesmerizing and it kinda numbs my nose too but I love it. This perfume makes me feel uplifted and it feels like coming home. As if it brings you back to the careless days where you were roaming around in your mom’s makeup trunk and finding an amazing fuchsia lipstick that you kinda wanted to bite in because it smelled so good. If you know you know..also the use of Turkish rose in this is an excellent choice, makes it chique and jammy.

Edit: this really grew on me and I can’t stop wearing it. I get complimented by men and women on this scent and they tell me that they want to stay close to me so they can keep smelling me.

Evie01

Decided to give this one another try.
It is very very strong, but that is a good thing, since most fresh and clean fragrances are too weak.
It smells like pure elegance and affluence, and it is very feminine. I especially love the aldehydes in the beginning
This will be my next perfume purchase!

Devved

It`s good, not mind blowing or a must have. It`s light yet i find that the longevity is good. The dry down smells like NARCISO Rouge, reminiscent of a lipstick smell. Feminine fragrance, rose and iris, that`s all i get.

Endi1geida

To my nose this is identical to Sonic Flower with few differences. Fleur de Peau is more pushed by the Aldehydes and comes across more strongly, which careful from overspraying cuz it can make you nauseous. Really skin like, fresh laundry that has been in the sun for days, androgynous and powdery. Very nice for niche perfume lovers, I would still suggest you buy a small version to try out to understand if fits your natural skin scent. Very nice formula.
Sonic Flower on the other hand is a softer and more floral perfume, which in turn makes it more feminine and less punchy because of the lack of aldehydes. I would suggest it for who finds Fleur de peau difficult to wear but still wants smth similar.

Suliciu

Really nice scent, but completely gone in 30minutes

sobbok

Surprisingly a 2ml sample of this lasted me for a whole week. It's a really nice musky scent. I can definitely smell the rose and iris notes, and although I haven't seen anybody mention it, it reminded me of Margiela's Lazy Sunday Morning. However, where LSM is definitely a clean, new-sheets type of scent, this has a dusty quality to it, not unpleasant but more reminiscent of something old. Longevity wasn't the best, though.

Tartt

Tried this on a sample.
It was love at first whiff. What a lovely smell. As a man fan of Dior Homme Intense and Prada L'homme I feel this has to be in my collection ASAP.
There's prominent iris of course, but also a subtle earthy but clean aroma that I love. Don't care if it's not masculine enough. Hope to get a bottle soon.

Rayy.an

I am surprised the notes don't mention oud... I definitely smell an amazing quality oud in this unique perfume. Such a beautiful scent that fills up the space perfectly and generously. It will follow you wherever you go. Definitely worth the price.

Edit: I don't know what happened to this perfume... the performance went down from top to zero... it barely lasts anymore... I think they changed the formula! It used to be strong, now it's strongly weak!

udzyna

Delicate and bodily EDP. This scent sounds brighter and longer lasting than Glossier You, nevertheless they are very similar. Both fragrances are great for the office or as home scent.

nomi00

oh wow this does not need to be loud to impress. clean smelling without it overtly being the stereotypical scent profile associated with clean. actually kind of laundry-like when i think about it. its light, calm and feminine leaning. i feel like i came out of the womb smelling this naturally good. easy love for me

Voidfruit

Beautiful powdery makeup-y veil of scent, I "feel" it more than I smell it on myself, but others can smell it. I agree that this is a more complex, fuller, more satisfying version of Glossier You, which I own and like but always feels like it's missing something and leaves me wanting more. I think Fleur de Peau might have that "more".

perfumelovaaah

Am I the only one to whom this smells like a lighter version of Chloe EDP?

hirayanaapuhap

I'm so sad that my skin doesn't really reflect this perfume's best qualities. I would have loved it if it stayed on me a little longer than five hours. I would have picked this for everyday use but my skin eats up all the other notes and leaves a paper-like scent after.

bbkay

Glossier You’s older sister maybe. Opening sort of smells like Necco Wafers…sweet & chalky. Older lady’s vanity table. Dry down is very cozy, but doesn’t read “laundry” to me as others are saying. It just doesn’t have that soapy quality to it — & I really like that it doesn’t. Overall a really beautiful scent that’s very very wearable while still not being super basic

rnbyang

I love this perfume smells like a baby powder, fresh and comforting.

CrissyCK

I really love this smell, but it seems more of a fancy house spray than a perfume. I did actually end up buying the house spray which works better. It lasts FOREVER. It's subtle and pleasant. Every now and then it does become a bit "much" so I use sparingly.

silverlocusts

Waxy but not lipstick-y iris and rose with some freshness and a touch of creaminess in the base. I smell You by Glossier all the time, and I don't think these are similar at all. You is the scent of dry woody musk filtered through a thin but soft sweater. Fleur de Peau is soft iris-scented laundry fresh out of the dryer piled on a heavy antique wooden table. They are both nice scents but not nearly enough alike for You to be the #1 "this reminds me of...." Fleur de Peau is a fully fledged if subtle scent in its own right, and You works best for layering. Of course there is a luxury factor, but as I said, I have smelled You more in the last year than most other fragrances; it is the difference between Moet et Chandon champagne and sparkling wine you'd get for $10 at Trader Joe's. They serve different vibes--ultimately, to me, it isn't even the luxury for FdP, it is the fact that it is just so much more grown up (and not in a mature or "grandma" way.)

petitincendie

Definitely similar to Glossier You—it’s the Parisienne to Glossier You’s New Yorker.

LoveBitch246

Tried this today. It’s a perfectly nice light musky scent. Peppery note remains throughout wear. As others have said, it has similar nuances to Glossier You, but is not the same. I do also enjoy the carrot seed in this.
Perhaps my nose is off, but I don’t understand what makes this perfume a more “sophisticated” version of Glossier aside from it being made in France and costing a lot more. The bottle and background are certainly more interesting, however the juice isn’t anything super groundbreaking (although Diptyque has some gorgeous scents for sure!). For the price and performance I don’t feel like I need this in addition to You, and my preference remains with Glossier in this genre.

aviegravy

very similar to glossier you, but with more tenacity. it's pointier and has less sweetness. it's more similar to naked by the maker than glossier; the former smells quite clinical, and this does too, which i imagine is due to their shared notes of angelica and carrot seed. overall, i could never justify owning more than one of the three, and glossier wins every time.

victoriabarretta

I liked it quite a bit til I read the notes. Now all I smell is boiled carrots. : (

yooji

Tried this after many people online said it was similar to Glossier You...I see the vague similarities due to the iris and musk, but this turns weirdly sour on my skin (might be the aldehydes?). Like others have said, it resembles carrots and dryer sheets. Definitely not a blind buy :/.

girlfriqnd

smells like when you walk past someones laundry vent and you can tell they're running the dryer

Esna

It’s smells like Vera from the movie LA PIEL QUE HABITO (one of my favorite movies and soundtracks ever). Vera has the most advanced beautiful skin in the world thanks to mutation. One day she does her makeup and hair to shopping, draped in a beautiful DVF dress. This is what I imagine she smelled like, beautiful skin, iris lipstick, Chanel powder, fresh air and fresh laundered dress. A tiny bit of bright carrot makes this clean fresh. The skin scent is what lingers the most on me and the main event.

I purchased a travel size of this and the hand lotion for my mini Lori Piana bag (cute tube😍) gives me Glossier YOU or M02 light vibes more than the perfume.

picklejuicebaby

Smells like warm, powdery pencil shavings on my skin. Not for me

onionism22

The opening is really nice. It smells like a fancy bathroom, or like something my boujee aunts would wear. Then I got this confusing whiff of cocktail? I'm guessing there was some note in the signature cocktails they served at the restaurant i used to work at that was similar to this. After the drydown, to me it's nothing special. Just powdery. Kind of disappointed as this was much hyped. I also got a philosykos sample and that one I love...

cheleine

Guys is it just me?! The OPENING!
It’s weirdly alcoholic, stale and chalky, it’s too much. I can’t stand it.
I remember looking at the SA and asking if perhaps the tester bottle has gone bad and she told me they change them very often because it’s a great seller.
It’s true! I went back months after..tested again, same thing…it’s difficult to get passed that opening.
Once it settles down it softens a lot but as a scent on my skin…it’s just meh. Musky powder, can’t really break down notes on this one. It’s a bit like a nice and comforting laundry detergent or like clean skin, like someone that naturally smells nice.
Reading all those amazing reviews though I’m bummed because I wish I had such a great experience with this perfume as so many people seem to love it and enjoy the scent. Wish I could smell what most people are smelling…probably my skin chemistry?
But not much of a difference on paper either.

ghoulish

i don't really like it. on me, it smells like baby powder or baby fabric softener. as it dries down, i smell more musk or clean bedsheets.

yayaaroma

Im going to come back and give this a full review but i think the carrot comments are funny. I can see why people are pointing that out but truly, no one will smell you and think that you smell like a carrot. Thats something you say when you know its in the ingridients, lol. As I’m wearing this today what i really came here to say though, is there has not been one time I wore this without a compliment! This perfume was instant love for me , when I think about it I smile. It’s so unique. It’s also sooooo long lasting .it smells like xerjoff apollina but better. It’s a clean powdery floral musk

Vellocet

Yes, it's quite resemblant to Glossier's you, but they're far away from being dupes. Glossier's perfume acts different depending on your body chemistry. I liked it, but for me it was one of those powdery, pencil shaving perfumes. I really don't get the hype. Fleur de peau , by diptyque, on the other hand is like you's sophisticated sister. Very powdery, slightly sweet and smells a bit like make up. And the musk.. is just in a category of its own. I prefer fleur de peau by far more than Glossier's you. It lasts longer too. Fleur de peau is a bit pricier, but a little goes a long way. Overall - both perfumes are great if you love soft and musky powdery scents. But i'd say fleur de peau is much better!

sl3333p

had really high hopes for this, yet to me it smelled like soap and burnt incense

dalale123

smells like you’ve somehow inhaled a carrot

lhembree17

I'm a lover of all thinks iris and musk, so hearing this was an upgraded You with more depth I immediately bought. Definitely a much more full, thick kind of smell compared to You with the same ingredients (just more behind the scenes). The immediate smell is like the most inoffensive powdery floral on the planet. Like, grandma in the nursing home smell. I love it with my whole heart but it is definitely a granny powder, if that makes sense. I tend to get a very musky woody vibe throughout the day but the drydown is much less powerful than the inital spray, kind of like a skin scent. It's not weak by any means, but it doesn't compare to the nuke of powder in the beginning. All in all it's one of my favorite scents mostly for the heavy iris with a musky, kind of soapy addition. If you like You I think this is a good next step.

JusttheFactsMan

#404 in my "Your de Fragrance"

I ordered this sample because it was listed as "for women and men." "No it really isn't", I thought. I ordered a sample of You Glossier months ago because that perfume vendor listed it as Unisex. "No it really isn't", I thought. But both are lovely scents for a woman, though Glossier You smells more like a bath powder or skin cream than a perfume. The top notes are certainly identical. And I love an iris note every time. So what the hell, I dumped this sample on my chest and waited for the development so I could comment on the sillage and longevity. Damn if 30 minutes in I didn't conclude that I was just panicked by the opening, and in fact the right man can probably pull this off. I may not be that man. But I think a younger man could do it.

The Glossier You is just not this complex. The top notes are a perfect match, but you get a lot more from the Diptyque scent that You Glossier doesn't provide thanks to the projection enhancing power of aldehyde, the warming effect of the amber and wood notes, and a nice peppery spiciness that tones down the feminine vibe. Makes the entire scent a warmer experience than You Glossier which came off kind of cold by comparison. Carrot seems a weird note to add to a scent. As far as I know I smell carrots just fine. I eat a lot of them. But I don't smell them here, especially not the sweetness of cooked carrots. Two hours later, I could smell this everywhere I've been in the house. So sillage, check. Still a solid skin scent at four hours. So it meets my "makes it to lunch" requirement for a keeper.

I won't be getting a bottle of this for myself. But I do have it in mind as a Christmas gift for a lovely young woman for whom I would gladly write bad checks. She loved the Amouage Reflection Woman I got her for her birthday, so I think she will like this a lot. Unless she can smell the carrots that I can't. Which does make me hesitate. Maybe I'll get her Oud Satin Mood instead. MFK never dissapoints

AinoKaroliina

This feels timeless and familiar yet unique at the same time.

I sense the carrot first thing. Pink pepper and bergamot are muted. Powdery and smooth iris is noticeable. If I didn't read the notes first I might not realize there's rose in here too.

Everything is so smooth. This is quality. There is no harshness or sharpness. I can clearly smell the leather but it's not a dirty type of note, it's buttery smooth and effortless, like If I brought a luxury leather glove or bag up to my nose.

Elegant and mature (and I don't use the word mature in a bad way)

I feel I'm picking up a small dose of cinnamon even though it's not listed. Could be the sweetness of the carrot combined with sandalwood.

Unisex and in my opinion most fitting for fall and winter because this has a cozy feel and I sense spices associated with this time of year.

maidenhead

this is revolting. smells like carrots that have gone through the wash. i hate carrots! :(

Olааа_la

Smell with no smell. To me, it's similar to what you feel when you sneeze gently in a quiet room, and in your nose you feel a damaged mucous membrane with dulled receptors, something like that. When I received it, I was even worried that I had covid, because it seemed to me that this is how you feel the world when it reflects the sense of smell...
Overall it's a carrot and pepper substance that smells like a white sheet of paper! I'm already used to it and my nose has adjusted, in general it seems interesting! On such a topic I have a more saturated fragrance that i love, namely #Hashtag 2787

Angelasaurus

Oh boy, I don’t like this one. The opening smells like old/stale makeup and the middle adds a hint of Tide laundry detergent. Didn’t stick around for the drydown. Glad what I only have is a sample that came with my full bottle of L’eau Papier. Will definitely not buy a full bottle.

Eden1

Very Very dry iris, and a sweet boiled carrot which is not entirely unpleasant, but it’s not for me. But i applaud Diptyque for a unique fragrance!

astralmonad870

I would have preferred the pink pepper to be stronger and jammier. I found this underwhelming and similar to Full Iris by Body Shop which does not have any pink pepper. And this is the main difference from Glossier You, of which this is NOT a dupe. There is no joy in wearing this but I think this would suit someone in a boring professional corporate job. If you already have a number of clean floral perfumes like Do Son from the same house, I don't think you need a full bottle of this.
Edit: I also want to add that I have synesthesia with regard to smell and see the color of this perfume as being a dull light gray. This is such a flop for Diptyque I couldn't even see myself using a 10 ml sample.

xdwward

This is the best blind buy I have ever made, and it really resonates with the perfume I was looking for: powdery but not cloying, musky and uplifting. I use this in the office and everyone tells me I smell so good. I feel so good when I spray it on me.

Longevity is a beast and sillage is just enough for other people to smell me when they are near me.

Note: review is based on tropical, humid climate

billiedenise

The reviews here are what made me want to try this perfume. I only got a small dabber of it, and I find that whenever I get a dabber I can never get the full experience of the perfume. From what I experienced however I was underwhelmed, but I would try it again since it's so beloved.

Simon-Alexis

This perfume is well named: “Fleur de Peau”, which means “flower of skin”. It smells harmonious with the skin, but that doesn’t mean it’s a weak fragrance: it lasts long and projects sufficiently.
It’s obviously not a masculine fragrance, but female-leaning unisex one. Although I am a man, I sometimes feel like wearing it because it relieves daily stress and takes me to a virtual heaven.

madara.ieva

This is such a lovely, feminine, fresh and youthful scent.
I fell in love with it since the first time I smelled it. it's the clean girl, the pretty girl, the main character girl scent. Very fresh, lightweight and youthful, slightly floral but not really in my opinion. The beginning is aldehydic, powdery and floral. It feels like a breeze of fresh summer air blown from the fields full of flowers. The undertone is quite mysterious, it has a carroty/powdery smell to it and it becomes a bit leathery (not even leathery, but skin-like) but still very comforting, it starts to remind me a little bit of my grandmother and her makeup, her perfume she used to wear, so it has a bit of that nostalgic feeling to it. Overally this scent makes me feel very clean, very pretty and happy. Definitely a go to scent if you want to wear something lovely, lightweight, not over the top and yet sophisticated and clean, perfect for daytime and professional occasions. Kinda feel like this would be a perfect scent for a teacher :D.
The only thing I would add, and which is just my personal opinion, is that this perfume is not very strong, it stays on for about 4-6h, sillage is pretty much non-existent, so It's definitely an intimate smell that more or less only I can sniff on my skin or clothes throughout the day. Also sometimes the aldehydic smell can make me nauseous.

Kinnyski

I don't get why people are comparing this to L'Eau Papier and even beats LP in the selection process. I smell scented drawer paper liners, carrot which smells like human flesh, scented panty liners and finally dried flowers Potpourri.

Not for me. Scent is very faint on my skin thank goodness but what remains is something akin to sweaty baby and scented pink sanitary napkins. Really Dislike. Do not blind buy!

sullymato

Fleur de Peau..if a colour, is like a pale, light lavender that shifts to yellow in the sunlight.
Imagine a having a young grandma in her late 60s. She has collarbone, salt and pepper hair. Drives a light baby blue VW Beetle with Ray Ban Clubmaster sunglasses on, shops at Whole Foods etc. Carefree and and a flowerchild in her at her core, but radiated poise and elegance.
If you went into her room and sat on her bed, this is the smell I would imagine radiates from her sheets. Or from her vanity table. It's that cosy, but fresh and powders scent. Very maternal and youthful. It also smells like an adult ballerina.
It's not for me since I lean towards your Another 13s, JHAG NAP Superdose, Leau Papier, but if you like Amazing Grace, Eau Rose, Chance eau Tendre - this may just fit in your collection.

adjn

Fleur de Peau is a mum. But not just 'any' mum-- she's the one that lives for children-- and not just her's. She's the mum that her kid's friends would call their 'second mum'.

She's safe, she's warm, she's comforting. She's the scent that makes you feel secure. Loved.

She is wise, always there to give a hug when needed, or a shoulder to cry on.

If you have parental issues, try spraying this and letting it sit for awhile and sniffing your arm because I find it very comforting.

NB: I think that if Diptyque made this into a fabric spray it would be sold out constantly. I'd probably curl up in my duvet on the sofa after having a hard day to feel like my mum is giving me a hug and telling me 'it'll be okay.' Aha, I forgot, they do have this in a multiuse spray. (althought seems to be discontinued? Can't tell.)

Bezza52

This is a mad love for me. Soft, airy and powdery. I waited for it to be back in stock to purchase a full sized bottle. A very easy and wearable frag

seveun

Personally really like this scent, I get the carrot/vegetal scent but it's not too watery or foul, I really love how it works with the more airy and powdery notes. The musky notes aren't overwhelming which I appreciated, normally I default to fresher scents but Fleur de Peau is a "clean," airy musk that feels comforting to wear.

Duckling

I wish I could smell the warm hugs or even the vegetal notes that everyone else is talking about, but all I get is baby diapers and dust from a vacuum cleaner.

Despite the comparisons, this is not a safe blind buy for fans of Orpheon and/or L’eau Papier.

amyvdplas

Fleur de Peau is a warm and tender hug in a bottle. I wore it to my wedding. Every time I spray it on now, I am instantly transported back to the happiness, love, and joy that filled the air on that special day. It's like a scent activated memory for me! I wore a simple off the shoulder chiffon wedding dress, with no lace or jewelry. My only accessory was Fleur de Peau. Minimal, sophisticated and romantic. My absolute favourite.

OlgaOT

Just posting this to reaffirm that Fleur de Peau might not be a safe blind buy.

I’ve been thinking about this Diptyque for a while, I meal what’s not to like: flower of a skin scent… I have tested it from a miniature they gave me at a boutique and I’m surprised with the 90s type lipsticks scent. I thought the iris wouldn’t be cosmetic but it is. On me it’s so powdery it’s hard to breathe (I don’t exaggerate). Just shows how different we all are, I wish I smelled the “irisy clean” like some others do but even when aldehydes come out to play, for me they are still much overpowered by the cosmetic iris. Musky base is very basic to my taste too. Sample before you buy the full bottle.

e s s e n n s e n

Mind = blown that so many reviewers smelled vegetal, Iris, powder. I am totally here for a powder bomb so I was looking forward to testing but I smell none of those elements on my skin. I enjoyed the open—fresh, soapy clean but soft. Then BOOM, drydown coming in HOT—screechy sweet, headache-inducing. Trying to figure out what it is…I think it is the Angelica, I have found we don’t play nice together in other frags. It smells cheap on me, so much that it turns my stomach a bit. Hard pass.

Still A Great Night

I absolutely love this fragrance and don’t understand all the negative reviews! To me it is a lovely, clean, powdery scent that doesn’t ever veer into the “dryer sheets” territory. Amazingly blended and so pretty.

JKeto

I sampled this because I saw this constantly compared to Glossier You, which is my all time favorite. What a let down. I see very little resemblance to You. This is a kind of synthetic, little vegetal and off putting scent. Not a huge fan.

washudtoj

I don't understand the purpose of this fragrance.

It's odd because with other fragrances, I never had to wonder about this, but this one felt flat and completely lost in direction for me, and hence I don't know why it exists or what it wants to convey or be, if that makes sense.

I didn't even *know* what I was smelling. It was very bland and I just raised my eyebrow when I smelt it. I think I got a very funny smell of ambrette and aldehydes and that opening did absolutely nothing to impress me. I didn't dislike it necessarily, but I just wasn't impressed. Also, the scent itself was really faint, as well.

Not blind buy safe, and for me, not worth the money.

strawbrrymelk

dusty, carrot-like, chic and mysterious. when it settles, it become spicier. it suits fall/winter the best.

ryetoast

This perfume challenges me because I’m not sure what to make of it. At first I get a lot of vegetal carrot seed and aldehyde, that dissipates into a clean musk smell. At arms length it’s fluffy and beautiful, but when I stick my nose right up to it I smell something earthy and dark. My friend who is very sensitive to smell told me I smell like a baby’s head, but I have received compliments from others. This feels like a perfect fall scent that people would mistake as your natural scent. One of my favorite bottle designs of all time. Total love, for all of its complexity.

Maleficent's cotton candy

This is the exact scent of being a single-digit age in the 70s and 80s, walking into a library and choosing an old, dense, yellow-paged book with the plastic, crinkly cover and a full library checkout card in the back. This is the scent of those thick, uneven and fragrant pages. I would challenge a chemist to creating a more realistic vintage library book fragrance but I do not believe it’s possible.

marieberd

Everlasting powder bomb that starts soapy and ends up, earthy, musky, rooty. A calming rainy-day scent. Also kinda like baby skin (maybe it’s the puréed carrot).

Not universal or “safe” unless you’re a certified powder lover with high iris tolerance. On me, it’s pretty but a bit of a wet blanket.

reesefernando

This perfume smells clean in a luxurious, expensive way. It is a dash of powder and musk, gentle wood and non-screeching florals blended together in a beautiful scent. There are note similarities with Glossier You and L'eau Papier, but Fleur de Peau dries down to a more amazing skin scent, projects better and definitely lasts longer -- it is like the more confident, established and elegant sister of the two.

basgam

Musky and powdery cleanness - this is what the smell is to me. Too expensive but it does smell of money. Safe blind-buy, you can't go wrong with it.

Binst145

Fleur de Peau has me enchanted! It is the most beautiful musky scent I own, slightly citrusy/fruity but very subtle, I don‘t get the pepper in this, which I appreciate. It‘s a skin-like clean scent that does not project a lot but lasts moderately. It is not too powdery on me and just makes me feel clean. I prefer it over my Narciso Rodriguez scents and over Glossier You, but it is similar to those scents.

mulchzom

this smells like smarties (the american candy) to me but i love it LMAO- chalky and powdery but so amazing

camphor_lover

Gentle flower, powdery like makeup. It’s almost in the style of that old lady type of musk perfume, but fresh. Love it.

AlexandraRoseD

This is the first time a parfume gives me evil vibes... like it sucks the energy out of me. Very weird.

Whateverwhocares

Pleasant, clean, airy white musk. Slightly better on skin than paper. The powder effect works very well here. Nice and balanced. NOT the powder bomb I’d expected.

Diptyque love their pink pepper. It’s actually not over the top here. Overall, a good frag, but I don’t know why you’d wear this over another musk.

bleuetfane

Harsh, wet carrot, and a citrus cleaning product? Sour gummy coating? Bizarre.

tanaC

Fleur de Peau,

Powdery / Iris offering from Diptyque with Cleanliness hyper clean feels from Aldehyde.
That Rooty Boil-carrot like taking over everything.

I find 1932 EDT is better for this Flowery, powdery scent.
This is also passing to my decluttering.

6/10

Sbg9s

I don't get the clean or soapy vibes here, all I smell is licorice which is surprising since it's not in the notes. I don't like it at all.

cyclone1391

Can't decide if I like this or not for myself. I would definitely recommend to powder lovers though. IMO this is far superior to You and Solar Blossom. On me, You smelled just like this but with a super dose of pepper and Solar Blossom had an almost pear like opening and then vanished. Fleur de Peau however has impressive lasting power, but on my skin, smells like a linear iris bomb. I don't get any other notes. Perhaps ambrette a smidge but the Iris dominates. Seems very classic and may be a bit too refined for my tastes. Does not smell similar to Estes Lauder's Tender Light, but definitely gives a similar vibe.

Erincess

Well made skin powdery scent, no wonder this is so famous, i have glossier you and room1015 sonic flower, compare to them its more liquid like, and has better sillage. They are more solid type.

MsFCAS

I am a Diptyque fan and own several. This one never came home with me because I suppose I don’t like the top notes that much, and spraying testers at the store did nothing for me.

Today I decided to try my sample and give it some time. Oh my, it is lovely about 90 minutes in. It has that Diptyque DNA where the scent is clear but not overpowering - I feel like Diptyque always smells expensive. Nothing sweet or cloying about it. Just a sophisticated, clean smelling skin scent.

Leolia

This is intoxicating.
My favorite skin scent but people can actually smell it on me.
It’s like a soft scent of an vintage makeup bag but made modern.
Perfect if you want to smell like an elegant classy lady.

ohuz01

Was very surprised to like this as much as I did considering I'm not usually a musky/powder fan, but this is blended so beautifully and the carrot and Angelica make it earthy enough to provide such an interesting scent. It has a sparkling quality to opening from the pepper. The rest of the dry down evokes to me the smell of a grand cathedrals in southern France, cold stone and incensed wood confessional boxes, dusty bibles, the scent of snuffed out waxy votive candles. beside the religious trauma European catholic core vibe, it has brilliant longevity of clothes but less on skin.

Gardinette

"Métallique" by Tom Ford (when you replace Vanilla with Iris).

Dominant Notes:
Iris, Aldehydes, Ambrette

Secondary Notes:
Musk, Pink Pepper, Carrot, Rose

Discreet Notes:
Ambergris, Angelica, Bergamot

Nonexistent Notes:
Sandalwood, Amberwood, Leather

A linear, cold and powdery creation. Cosmetics scent and iron.
A tangy start turns into the smell of fabric softener, with a lot of limestone scaling in the water.
A mineral spring water, with organic compounds such as magnesium.

I rather recommend "Iris Rebelle" from Atelier Cologne (which also has a Carrot note) much more elegant, and less sanitary. This Diptyque is unfortunately neither earthy nor floral, but remains hygienic and metallic close to "La Vierge de Fer" by Lutens.

rosa silvestre

I judged Fleur de peau too soon. It starts off as a powder-bomb upon first spray, but give it 15 minutes and this completely transforms. I smell more of the carrot/angelica/aldehydes immediately before it dries. Once it dries, the iris (somewhat detergent-y, but well-done), rose, sandalwood and ambroxan emerge making this a well-balanced, cozy, even somewhat creamy/musky floral skin scent. It's quite beautiful, a true flower of the skin. My nose does need to be within two inches of my skin to smell it after spraying generously however, making it hard to justify purchasing a full bottle.

chqntndr

I'm disappointed honestly. It does not smell like Glossier You or Xerjoff Apollonia to me at all. Maybe it's the slight cold I have but I don't smell carrot or iris. This smells soapy, cologne-ish, and powdery in a mature to me. I smell strong pepper in the opening, then it settles into this cheap cologne-ish scent. I tried to wash it off with soap and some water and thought I smelled You for a tiny second but I was wrong.

Mellerouge

Smells like a very clean bathroom

Dlittlegarden

I'm surprised by how much I like this. As Annkarih says below, it manages to be both warm and cold at the same time. I love the balance, and the sweet carrot note is lovely. It's a very unique take on a gourmand fragrance that's suitable for warmer weather without being too sticky and cloying.

The opening does have some similarities to Glossier You, but is sweeter, fresher and more complex. I also notice similarities to Clean Reserve Skin, but only with a nibble of praline, and a whole stainless steel cupful of carrot juice fresh from the juicer.

The ambergris, sandalwood and leather start coming forward more strongly after about an hour and I feel this fragrance becomes more "unisex" (the opening feeling a bit more "feminine"). The leather in this fragrance is that of the fine interior of a luxury bag that has been taken out of winter storage in a cedar closet.

Annkarih

This is powdery, dark, warm and cold at the same time. Peppery and soapy. It has some similarityes to glossier you, but they are very different.

Evie01

This is my mother’s signature scent

To me it smells more fresh than powdery. It has great projection and leaves a nice trail of cleanliness

IamdrinkingBeer

Another laundry detergent scent like Orpheon, albeit more interesting. Its nice, but thats where i stop.

LeighaCece

I wanted to love this SO bad, since I absolutely adore Glossier You and was anticipating that Fleur De Peau would be a more mature, longer lasting version … but *oh my word* the CARROT. I hate to say it but it almost completely ruins it for me. It sucks because the carrot is a base note too so I almost always smell it. When I first sprayed it, I was completely taken aback by the horrible peppery carrot smell. It literally smells exactly like when I make fresh carrot juice - when I open the pulp container on the juicer, and get a huge whiff of pulverized carrot. Mix that smell with some ground pepper and vintage dusting powder, and you get this perfume. I’m determined to get over my aversion to this vegetal mess and try to smell past the carrot and into the iris and musks… I’ll update if I grow to love this or if it continues to be a carroty spice bomb to me. Once the carrot scent starts to fade a bit, I do get whiffs of that similar Glossier You notes, but they’re barely detectable. I feel like this would be such a beautiful perfume if my nose wasn’t so sensitive to the damn carrot.

galoppinglady

I would never have thought that I'd find a powdery iris and *carrot* based fragrance pleasant, but here we are. This is a lovely cottagecore scent, it smells like a lovely lady in a light green floral print dress, sitting in her lush garden, listening to birdsong and soaking in the late-spring afternoon sun.
It's somehow also very sophisticated and I have an easy time imagining an old money college-aged boy dressed in all white wearing this to the fancy golf course he visits with his family every Saturday.

In the opening I get fresh crisp carrot, hence the cottage association, but with the drydown I get a pleasant blend of the notes. Definitely very unique and special.

nszlufik

Loved it on the tester strip. Got this for my wife thinking itd be a light musky aldehydic kind of scent with a subdued sweetness. On skin, this came off unpleasingly powdery at first which was unexpected and not quite appreciated. It dried down nice and softly but for the price, it wasnt something she wanted to keep a full bottle of. It smells great on clothes but too powdery on skin until it begins to dry down to a near imperceptible skin scent.

Lexvanova

This perfume confuses me a bit. I didn’t particularly enjoy the opening, it’s super powdery very old lady in my opinion. As it dries down I fell in love so hard I immediately got a bottle.
After a few days of wearing it I have noticed I get quite nauseous throughout the day and even get a headache.
The day before I had combined it with Do Son as I was also trying it out. Do son ended up being horrible for me, but now I fear my brain associates Fleur de peau with Do Son an immediately makes me nauseous.
I’ll give it a couple of days to see if I still like it.

livianee

I love this parfume, but on my skin is longitivity and silage weak-moderate and people around me don't smell it. But for me is the smell very comfy.

iszzieanna

A fusion of glossier’s you and lazy Sunday morning. This has the same sparkling opening to you, but it has the linen, extremely fresh and soapy dry down of LSM.

Lom

This is the kind of new perfume that says: I'm a rich kid, young and trendy, but with good taste.
First time I smelled someone wearing it I thought she had an amazing niche perfume and had to know what it was. I find it to be very refreshing and expensive smelling. The iris and bitter citrus notes are very prominent on me together with some laundry background. It reminds me a bit of Eau Des Sens. Strong, long lasting, high quality and enjoyable throughout the day. Would work in any season and any time of day.

Edit: as excellent as this is, I find that it veers too far from the original Diptyque DNA, like most of their recent releases. I wish the brand went back to the direction of simplicity, mystery, airy, calm perfumes. I also find the bottles to be pretty but a bit aggressive and too expensive looking if that makes sense.

gandrasta

Dominated by iris and pink pepper to my nose. There's a weak powdery scent along the way make it smells different. but performance is rather disappointing.i can't

rabbitheart

As someone who feels more at home smelling like a (green) plant rather than a person, this isn't something I'd normally reach for, however, I got a sample at nordstroms simply because it was there. Its fine for what it is, but I do agree with some other reviewers that there are many scents out there that are similar to it. I tried to layer it with some other things I had but I came to the conclusion that despite the scent itself being a bit plain/bland for my taste, the sillage was too loud to pair with anything else, at least on skin (my mom told me it was too strong TWICE lol). Objectively nice/inoffensive I guess, but I can't see myself wearing it often enough to justify a purchase.

Babieluv

I don't get any powder or fluffiness at all in this perfume, instead it's a clean, fresh iris and some aldehydes thrown in. I do detect some carrots in the beginning as well. Fantastic perfume. I bought travel version at first, but ended up loving it so much I got a full bottle too. Office friendly and huge compliment getter.

Katchke

Feels like a hugely more mature version of Glossier You. It almost feels like a mother daughter situation for me. If You is a little sweeter and spicier, this has more of a floral powdery nature. Makes me feel very expensive and if I smelled someone wearing this I think it would immediately be reminded of libraries and books and late summer/early fall. This sample makes me really want to try Diptyques L'Eau Papier because THIS is what I imagine paper smelling like, like a beatiful vintage bookstore. Warm, sory of dusty, but not unclean, and I am interested to see how they compare.

fefeta

Black peppers-dust-boiled carrot then hint of powder in the background

Not worth it , not a safe blind buy , regret it

h149

To its credit, this is the rare aldehydic that I do not passionately dislike and immediately scrub off; that may be because it leads with powdery notes, which I tend to enjoy. The aldehyde isn't too much like hot clean metal and hair salons here, it smells soft and calm, like opening a cabinet to take out some towels. It's not bad or anything, actually I think it's well-mixed and the layers of it smell thoughtful and distinct. I think I'm just kind of unmoved by skin scents in general.

JuliaQueen

Iris always smells like clean warm laundry or towels to me. Fleur de Peau is quite strong but so warm and comforting, I just love it. It is a very classic scent so it does remind me of fancy old ladies, but in a good way :)
I just realised that years ago I only liked Narciso Rodriguez EDT for the dry down, which is that same iris note.

meadhbh

Was really hoping to like this one because i love Glossier You, but to me it just smelled like those parma violet sweets. Might give a bigger sample more of a try.

Edemay

I’m surprised no one else has likened this to Putain des palaces.
It’s like a lighter more airy version of it.
A very classy musk for sure!
I can definitely smell an animalic vibe that keeps me sniffing my wrist too.
Again comparing this to Putain, Putain is sweeter and warmer for sure.
I think this scent is super classy with a touch of sexy 👌🏼

Myrtillajus

A wonderfully intimate and clean perfume, it recalls a pure, natural, simple but at the same time disarming beauty.
It is a clear, bright fragrance that makes my nose stand out first from aldehydes, then Iris and finally the musk that gives it a full and very pleasant creaminess.
I would almost say that it blends perfectly with the skin, dressing it like an invisible veil, making it even more irresistible.
On me unfortunately it hasn’t a long lasting sillage, but perhaps it’s right, as I perceive a total fusion with the person who wears it.
Goya's Maja Desnuda would wear it, so natural but at the same time bold and uninhibited.

another_52hz_whale

When I sampled Fleur de Peau at a Diptyque store I remember not being able to smell anything on testing paper until I got home. I ended up liking it enough to buy a full bottle... Well.... I sprayed my bottle.... The first three hours are quite unpleasant LOL. The pencil shaving scent that someone mentioned here really repels me, I even thought the bottle I got on sale was fake. I had to go to the store again to make sure. It was enjoyable four hours in. With that being said, I will use up my bottle but I will not repurchase because I cannot get over the pencil shaving scent lol

skybunny

Like sticking your face in front of a dryer vent. It smells like warm laundry and makes me kind of sleepy when I wear it.

I sprayed some on my nightshirt and I could smell it for days.

PijiRobyn

Just to say, this projects like crazy. A girl I know wears this and I can smell this on her a good 3/4 metres away from her. Super powdery, but in an elegant way. Not mature way or baby powder way.

ingrid.superstar

Though it's unlisted, I get big violet overtones from Fleur de Peau. Smells like musky, powdery, un-sweet, clean iris and violet. It's in the same broad category as Glossier You (a personal-smelling, chameleon-type fragrance), but I do not think they smell much alike. I disliked Glossier You because of the blast of pink pepper. Overall You smells like the scent of walking into someone else's house: warm laundry, faintly fruity cleaning products, a whiff of fading cooking smells, musky humanity. Fleur de Peau, however, smells like aldehydes and dry makeup powder -- like freshly shampooed hair in hot rollers or an expensive handbag with fragrant makeup in it. I forget to wear this fragrance because I forget how good it is. I often reach for something more easily definable as floral, rather than the hazy, sketchy, phantom-floral enigma that is Fleur de Peau. All the same, a very interesting, high-quality, well-blended fragrance. Though it is hazy, it lasts!

raesmells

I love this scent. Soft, just a tad sweet (i hate sweet scents), a bit of powder, and a soft musk. If you love this but want to dial down the sweet, try She Was an Anomaly, if you want to up the sweetness/sexiness, try Prada Candy Kiss.

amanda0727

The opening made me think of my childhood doctor's office, so this is an immediate NO. The drydown is not bad, but it smells just like baby soap.

DrRosie

I initially loved this fragrance, purchased it and the body cream. I wore it and started wondering why did purchased this fragrance. It is probably the least loved fragrance in my collection besides Paris Paris by Chanel.

missile414

This is beautiful! This is my kind of floral: realistic flowers, no sickly sweetness, melts with the skin. The incredible thing about this scent is that it lasts so long! It's really quite impressive. Don't get me wrong though, it remains mostly a skin scent, but you do continue to get whiffs of it for hours which is not typical of most skin scents. It's quite exquisite.

Vintila R.

This is a nice scent but it is not what I was expecting. It has a lot of Iris (nice powdery touch, if you like that) but I can barely smell the ambrette seeds. I would like it to be the other way around: more ambrette seeds and fewer florals. It didn't turn animalic on my skin but my body chemistry makes any type of sweet note sweeter as it heats, and this is not an exception. That floral sweetness puts me off. Well done but it is not for me.

mmeofmanor

I blind bought this one and I regret it. I was intrigued that it was described as a more complex version of Glossier You. I do get a hint of ambrette but other than that it is a powdery mess. If you have even a slight aversion to powdery scents, steer clear of this one.

A_Ferrera

Initially I loved it, but then it started smelling like baby spit up...

alternateu

I really, REALLY wanted and tried my best to like it.
It opens on my skin with a powdery, earthy, carrot-seed type vibe (LOVE this part - if you've ever smelled carrot seed oil, it's almost like that) with minimal projection.
Round, creamy, unisex, and comforting.
Unfortunately, on my skin, rapidly turned into a very fizzy, almost dry-orange-soda type of vibe. I've tried it in two different Diptyque boutiques, bought two decants from different sellers, tried wearing in in different weather, with moisturiser, and got this dry down every single time. That dry down unfortunately really disturbs me, and takes the perfume in a completely different direction. Would have purchased if not for that drydown.

-

Edit:
Despite my misgivings earlier, while the fizzy orange thing persists on my skin, I gave in and bought a full bottle.
Asking around for opinions
- powder, ew (my mom is not a fan of power)
- mmm, musky powder (this girl loved it)
- why is there fizzy orange liquor? (My dad)

My dad tried it on his skin, and it projected really strongly off his! Interesting! The fizzy orange-scented liquor was also predominant on his skin, but given that strong projection and longevity, starting to wonder if I just had olfactory fatigue from smelling it on myself.

MuralGlobe

This scent is something I wish I could convey with words, but it's SO hard. I do smell carrots, but it only adds to the fun rather than distract. This is another one of those fragrances where I fell for it because someone else was just SO passionate about their review about it that I was like "okay, I can kind of see it!" Call me a sheep or whatever, but I do not regret getting this bottle!

My experience with powder is sort of really small. Some of the powders I can remember off the top of my head are Orpheon (another Diptyque omg who saw this coming...), Labdanum 18, and Santal 33. Each one approaches powder in distinct faucets, but they have that 'brushing-your-face-with-stuff' quality to them that fills your nose and makes everything sort of stuffy. While Labdanum is a sweetish baby wipe, Santal is a woody leather talcum, and Orpheon is a jasmine powder with a hint of sweetness, Fleur de Peau is a floral, carrot powder that sticks to skin and sticks even longer to fabrics. There is like almost no way to say it as it is, and make it sound delectable.

Yeah, sure, maybe the carrot is well formulated and I can't ACTUALLY smell it, but I say I can because the notes above say carrot is in it. The mind is crazy like that, and it believes what it wants to believe. And that same mind made me believe that I needed a full bottle because I was moonstruck. From a like to a love, but now it's just a like. I don't reach for it, but that could because I grew bored of the fragrances I have. I'm currently only reaching for samples and editing my wishlist TOO often. 8/10 scent, 10/10 longevity, 10/10 bottle.

FeleciaB

@sunnyviolets 100% reminds me of childhood! Came here to see if anyone felt the same way

Zahraa555

Very musky and animalic. Smells like skin/flesh of a human. I think this is similar to the smell of boiled carrots (not fresh).
Also kinda mature because of aldehydes. Really nice.

Also, it is very similar to L'Eau Papier from Diptyque.

I don’t recommend blind buying it.

07/12/23 review: I smelled it again and this time I love it even more. It has changed a lot. Maceration maybe?
The opening is musky and has a Narciso Rodriguez DNA. The dry down is iris.. makeuppy and powdery in a delicate warm way.

AngeLkatelyn00

Absolutely gorgeous. Long lasting and I caught whiffs of it off myself all day. If you LovE glossier YOU, you’ll atleast like (if not LOVE) this too! I’ve read reviews of some people saying it pulls vegetal on them, but I do not get that at all for some reason! IMO, it’s like glossier you with an extra dose of pink pepper, iris, ambrette PLUS a clean fresh laundry smell (that’s not too laundry detergent-like).

nanaa_from_ghana

This is up there as probably one of the most unique perfumes in my collection. It falls in the category “skin scent”, but it’s done in the most elegant, melancholy, and heart-achingly beautiful way.

First off, this is not blind buy safe by any means (even though I blind bought it 🤣) and honestly upon first sniff, I was scared I had made a really bad decision. But as always, I like to give any new perfumes I try a chance to dry down a bit before making my verdict.

From the first spray, you get a very dry, cold, powdery scent that’s a bit scratchy and vintage smelling. It smells slightly vegetal from the carrot, and the touch of woodyness gives it a pencil shavings scent. As subtle as this scent it, it’s quite strong and projects nicely for the first few hours. As it dries down, the floral notes come in more and add a nice soapy vibe to the scent and the musk and amber wood add a much needed warmth to the over feeling of the scent. On my skin, this was a bit of a shapeshifter and kept me on my toes throughout its wear, which I really appreciated.

The longevity is wonderful (8+ hours easy) and again, the projection is what shocked me because most skin scents I’ve tried don’t give me wafts as I’m moving around throughout the day.

If you’re big on iris, lipstick-y, musky skin scents with a uniqueness, definitely give this one a go. This has become an unexpected love for me and I hope to keep this in my collection for a long time. Appropriate for year round and I could even see this being someone’s signature scent.

Great job, Diptyque!

antoniov

You really need to test this one before buying. On my skin it smells nice but it is too "black Peppery" for my taste. I prefer philosykos and Do Son. Longévité is good though and it could be a classy scent for someone.

sunnyviolets

It definitely needs to be investigated how so many of us associate this scent, or other iris-centered scents, with childhood and people we remember.

This doesn't turn too soapy, powdery or cosmetic on my skin - it's the precise iris I have been looking for. Funny I remember this being the very first niche fragrance I learned about and thought it wouldn't suit my tastes at all... how we return to what we need.

SheBubs

For an award winner and being a big fan of “skin scents”, I was very disappointed to see that this is just a soapy mess. Dial soap with a touch of musk. If you love your sudsy scents and it appears that many of you do, you will be tickled by this offering.

ClaudiaMarcela

Fleur de Peau: where have you been my entire life? I was about to purchase DoSon and sniffed this by accident. 2 completely different scents though but what a perfume Fleur de Peau is! Inoffensive and elegant. I'm obsessed!

floszra

Inoffensive, soapy, nice and smells expensive. I love it.

silencio

I am a huge fan of Diptyque and Fleur de Peau is in my top 3. I am obsessed. But this one is definitely not a blind buy, it's a love-it-or-hate-it perfume.

derby2169

Fleur de Peau is a fragrance that feels almost too good to be available for the current price, easily something that could go for twice the price if it were created by less honest brand. It essentially delivers a very smooth and full iris experience while smelling surprisingly natural without being too damp or vegetal.

I'm quite certain that what is being used here is carrot seed extract, an interesting raw material full of ionones, compounds that are found in iris extract, which is ridiculously expensive and therefore practically never used in perfumery. Honestly, having sampled real iris extract, it also doesn't really need to be used, because it is honestly not that great, its ashy, waxy, oily, vegetal, and ever so slightly sweet. Master perfumers like Olivier Pescheux seem to known this too and have effectively created these massive powdery musky floral accords that vastly surpass the original material (imo).

Fleur de Peau is round, smooth, musky, powdery, buttery, but also slightly cold and vegetal (imo coming from the carrot seed) to still provide the feeling that this could be a smell coming from the root of a delicate flower. All together it feels like a dreamy cloud of pale translucent powder that has stuck to your skin and is staying there for the rest of the day like an invisible sheath. Unlike most iris fragrances it doesn't smell hardcore cosmetic but it is still intensely powdery, too much for me to comfortably wear, aside from in dressed up fancy occasions, but I do appreciate the art and technical ability that went into it.
Definitely something to look into if you are into powdery musky fragrances (also Volutes EDP, which has a similar iris accord but microdosed and matched with a warm spicy tobacco accord). Excellent overall, good value for money.

ledossa

Glossier You’s older sister + leans towards smelling like cleaning products + seconding what others are saying about the sharp opening.

I actually had a cheap perfume that smelled exactly like this, H&M’s “Above the Clouds” EDT. Like near exact dupe. I remember it vividly though haven’t sprayed it in four years.

putriauliasalsabila

Hmmmm, like on my first spray I am directly said 'what is with this smell????'.

It's so lipstick!!! And so strongly chemical synthetic when you smell it. Feels like goes direct to the end of my nose.
Really, I just smell lipstick with this perfume.... Or is this how iris smell like? Then it is not my favorite at all......

But, this perfume is so longlasting!!! Like more than 12 hours on my skin (WOW). And actually, I love the dry down, but not the top notes 😩

Aleauv

clean musk, soapy aldehides and pretty florals that melt on your skin, it merges with you, like you used a bath oil, what's not to love about that? I get complements on how good and clean I smell.

brooklynbby

based on the notes I thought I would love this but was wrong. I am disappointed to report that on me it has an almost waxy, crayon like vibe

iamdarthveda

Unlike any other musks I have smelled - this is slightly powdery, warm and lotiony. But boy is it sophisticated.
I love musky scents but many lean too synthetic (Looking at you Another 13). This scent being offset with iris works in its favor as it leans complex and beautiful.
THE perfect scent for layering.

Daisy_D

Somehow, to me, it's a bit yellow floral and with vetiver. Weird that neither of these was involved in the fragrance. It's earthy, powdery, and soapy, quite old-fashioned classic.

Nurses04.

This is a gorgeous perfume. It’s a smell that I want someone to catch as I walk past them. It’s lightly floral, powdery and soapy - yet interesting with an earthy quality to it. The longer that I have this on my skin I feel the powdery dry down does ‘sweeten’ slightly but to clarify this is not a sweet scent! If I’m honest I prefer the opening where I think the fragrance is sharper, mildly peppery and ‘rougher’(?!? - not the correct word) saying all that the dry down remains beautiful in its own right. An Iris powder scent - not a makeup powder, not a baby powder - it’s a clean, fresh powder. It lasts a good 6-7 hours on my skin - 24 hours on clothes. People can smell it if they enter my personal space but it doesn’t project loudly. I would say because of the clean soapy quality it works as a unisex scent but does lean feminine.

muzzbait

About 10 months ago, I tried it and fell in love with it.
Then, late last year, I kinda changed my mind somewhat, so I decided to give myself a few months of NOT trying it on, with the hope that with some distance I'll be able to have a clearer idea of what I actually feel about that. Anyway, I tried it again today, and I'm sad to say I won't be trying this anymore and I won't be seeking it out.
A wonderfully fragrant-floral carrot, with iris notes, boosted by an aldehydic background that rounds the scent out. I love smelling this, I really TRULY do, but it's just not something I wanna smell on myself. I have a HEAP of samples I've tried to get my wife to try because I want her to smell like this, but of course, she won't wear them because she does what she wants.
But yeah, a wonderful 8/10 scent, just not the kinda thing I want to wear...

AryanasPerfumes

Gorgeous ambrette and iris, doesnt make it lipsticky. It has a sharp quality from the pepper then it settles into this musky ambrette , powdery beauty. It mixes well with my skin and no, it doenst smell sweaty, no , it has no resemblence to any Narciso Rodriguez . I can tell you this: I sprayed it on a dress in summer and 2 weeks later It still smelled in my closet .The whole closet smelled like it. Amazing performance ,although you might not feel it`s strong, trust me, it is. It`s not like Baccarat rouge to become anosmic to it, but you might feel it`s not strong enough, because you re getting used to it.

ingrid.superstar

This is slick! Well into the dry-down it has that curious duality of "I can't smell this at all / It's all I can smell.”

ingrid.superstar

Was hoping for more fleur, less peau.

LeeloSteelo

I absolutely love this perfume but…I become completely anosmic to this and it makes me so sad. Debating on returning and I’m not a returner. At first it smells vegetal and then it goes to a powdery iris which is beautiful and then bam gone. If you are looking for a fabulous niche skin scent this is it.

Edited on 2/18/23: I have continued to wear this and I think as time goes on I smell it more and with that I truly appreciate it. Similar to how glossier you and another 13 come and go throughout the day. I don’t get compliments with it by itself but when layered with molecule 01+Iris I have gotten multiple. (To add. I wear fragrance for me and don’t need the compliments but I guess this combo helps it project more).

temps_perdu

I thought my daughter and her friend were playing with my perfumes because there was a strong Fleur de Peau smell in the air... Nope! Turns out the friend's family uses Tide Coldwater Clean Original laundry detergent and they smell almost identical.

Bob Cage

Best ambrette in the game? Lovely, sexless, just clean skin here. Aldehydes add some shimmer. Excellent scent. 10/10

Doeyez72

I like the idea of this fragrance but the opening is too sharp. I get the same nose burning reaction from Jo Malone Roses Musk, Amouage Portrayal woman, Clive Christian Magnolia ( that one is BEAUTIFUL but not only makes me nauseous but dizzy) wonder what chemical or note in these repulse me even though they are all wonderful in theory. Someone help. Lol

Smeraldina77

To me, this fragrance is a masterpiece! It's been love at first smell! I believe it is truly unique: it is soft and powdery and cosy and comforting and warm, but at the same time it is also fresh and airy and fluffy. It is indeed powdery, but not to much and I tend to disagree with those ones who say it smells like a vintage powder puff; to me it does not seem vintage at all. It melts with your skin (at least with mine) but at the same time it stands out, it is not at all a skin scent. Although it is soft, it has a huge sillage and an incredible longevity (more than 12 hours on me, if I don't shower). It is so full of juxtapositions, but still so coherent. I think you can wear it both in day time and on a night out and I believe it is suitable basically all year round, except in very hot summer. I love Diptyque in general and I believe they did a wonderful job with this perfume.

cristina758

This is my favourite perfume. It's very feminine, elegant, unique ,sophisticated fragrance. It's a different smell, like dusty(in a good way). it's super clean perfume. I only wear this for special dates. It's nice floral perfume. You cant go wrong with this perfume. It's a good option for day and night, work, school, dates, etc.

C63

I tried a spritz of this last week in a department store not knowing what to expect. There was something 'dusty' there, and I normally like perfumes with a dusty aspect (Valentino Valentina in its final drydown springs to mind, although the two fragrances are wildly different). Otherwise, I was unimpressed by the other notes. Skip to 2 hours later and oh my god, I couldn't stop smelling my wrist. After the baby powder note I get this beautiful sparkling aspect. As other people have commented, it's like clean, zingy laundry. There's also something ever so slightly animalic in there. I could still smell the clean sparkling aspect the next morning, so I reckon I got a good 12 to 16 hours out of this. The memory of that smell haunted me all week and I had to buy a bottle of the stuff. It's way different from anything I would normally wear but I absolutely love it.

doom kulthum

Clean, musky. A powdered, dry iris that blooms into potency on the skin.
This may be unusual, but I consider this the safest scent in my collection. Regardless of the situation, day or night, professional or casual, I wear Fleur de Peau and I feel immediately more refined. It's distinct and unique, noticeable, yet inoffensive.

I do not say it is "safe" to say it is generic or a crowd pleaser; it is clean, but not soapy, it's floral, but not very sweet. It's warmed up by that peppercorn that is ever so slight on me, but it never gets spicy. Surprisingly gentle and intimate—this is a scent that stays close to the body and whispers out after about four hours.

Enrium

Fleur de Peau is a soft, musky, intimate scent that is deceptively complex yet cohesive and comforting. It is dry and papery, hazily green, bright at times, featuring powdery iris, woody notes and cosy musks. There is a pinch of warm amber in the base, adding a slight animalic quality in its later stages.

FdP opens with an unusual papery accord that brought to mind the extraordinary L'Heure Perdue XI from Cartier. It develops, becoming hazily green interspersed with some aldehydic brightness. Powdery iris - one of my favourite notes of all - blooms on my skin, soft and melancholic. The muskiness, there from the beginning, complements it beautifully. It is dry and powdery, still somewhat papery, with a hint of sweetness in the background thanks to the restrained, powdery rose note.

It remains powdery as it fades, becoming increasingly musky and more animalic as the amber accord comes to the fore. It isn't dirty - in fact, it becomes slightly soapy here - very unexpected. There is a nice woody undertone at this stage too. It fades to becomes a cleanly musky skin scent. Sillage is intimate and longevity is moderate.

A scent of contradictions, as mentioned below, FdP is sensual yet cleanly innocent; cosily warm yet freshly cool; soapily clean yet muskily animalic. An easy yet avant-garde transeasonal, everyday scent. Feminine-leaning in my opinion, but could be unisex. Aptly named, and quietly impressive. 4/5.

Han Nguyen

Complexe fragrance. It’s a love hate for me.
Wherever I spray it, on my skin or clothes or bedsheet, I can’t stand the opening but really enjoy the development and base notes.
It’s cold and warm at the same time, pure but quite sexy, mature at first but turn out somehow provocative, frigid but also passionate.

shadycat

Fleur de Peau has become my signature lately. How did this happen? I’m an unfaithful perfume lover. I cheat and cheat on my favorites - but this scent has stolen my heart. It’s clean, musky, powdery but fresh and slightly peppery. It’s innocent on the surface but this innocence is open to interpretation. It’s the girl next door who has a sensual side. It’s shade and coolness in the summer and a cozy hug in winter. A lovely and evocative perfume if you’re into this type of scent. Pairs well with the original Dove soap scent, and seems to be wearable in all seasons too. I’m saving up for a second bottle!

summer_88

So soft and cosy...really nice fragrance that I find works in all kinds of weather. It has a good sillage and it lasts most of the day, even in the summer. It's what Glossier have attempted with their own brand perfume but not quite managed... though it is a much lower price point so that's to be expected.

I think this is also one of those scents that smells very different on each person. When I smell from the bottle, I don't really enjoy the fragrance but on my skin, it's beautiful.

panoraifu

This scent is surprising at first. I don't think I smelled pencil shavings before—it is one way to describe it. The magic happens in the dry down. It becomes the most luxurious skin scent, at once expensive and very familiar. It would be lovely as a mother's skin scent the children get to remember. Surprisingly, it lasted incredibly long on my wrist; I think it was in the range of +24hrs. I'm adding this to my wishlist.

rullaxoxo

I’ve really been trying to get on board with this perfume since I bought it in a diptyque travel discovery set but I simply can’t! It smells too much like gin & tonic. On my skin, it’s not powdery at all. Instead, it’s synthetic and sharp.

pinkpeppercorn

The older sister to Glossier You. Absolutely love this scent, had a sample at first and after the first wear I knew I had to get a bottle. To me it just smells like 'home', it has the musky slightly sweet pink peppercorn like Glossier You but elevated and more complex. Was able to smell this on myself throughout the day

LuckyStar1984

This is an interesting one. I would absolutely recommend testing it on your skin versus paper. On paper, this is almost all pink pepper and aldehydes with the iris way in the background. It’s a bit of a nose burner straight out of the bottle and I can see why many people may not enjoy FDP upon first sniff.

Give this scent about five minutes on the skin and see what happens. On me, it becomes quite soft, powdery, and addictive with the iris and ambrette coming through beautifully. The musk is there as well but it blends into my skin and creates an aura of naturally sweet skin. There is definitely a nostalgic, vintage quality to this. Does anyone else find this to be similar to L’air du Temps by Nina Ricci? When I wear this I feel exceptionally polished and poised. Like a woman who wears pearl earrings, a French twist, an Hermes scarf, and a skirt suit to work. But there is also a soft and sensual quality coming through in the ambrette and musk. The contradiction is quite intriguing.

The projection is mild to moderate and I feel fine wearing this in a professional environment. On me, it lasts all day - I get a gentle hint of this throughout work and it is not headache-inducing. However, I wouldn’t do more that one or two sprays and try it out somewhere innocuous like the inside of your elbow to start. I really enjoy using this post-shower and I notice that when I pair this with a cocoa butter lotion the white chocolate and the iris notes are absolutely lovely together. Highly recommend giving that combo a try.

joshmcmxciii

Pencil shavings and natural body odour. Fleur de Peau is an ultimate niche skin scent.

Gracaroli

I woulld say it's very unique, refined smell. It's powdery, peppery musk. It seems to be not long lasting or projecting, but believe me it is - one day I left my scented scarve at work and other day all my cabinet smelled like Fleur de Peau. I think it's the ambegris playing with our noses - it looks like you cannot smell barely nothing, but when your nose gets some rest , it hits will all his power. For example if you try to smell Fleur de Peau without pritzing, only on the stopper, it always smells sooo strong. I love Fleur de Peau, but it's not a safe blind buy.

chubbyosh

This really smells like Glossier's You (at least the old version...) but without the sweetness. They both smell of iris, and pink peppercorn but Fleur de Peau has twice the amount of the signature pencil-shaving smell that comes with both. Unfortunately, I really miss the sweet dry-down of glossier which this doesn't have. Sad to report this one is headache-inducing... the search still goes on ;-;

Kylix

I quote @notnati. It’s something strange also for me

It’s the same base of Orpheon, right? Some pepper ruins the whole.
