Pros
I liked the work that I was doing, however, the pay was just not worth my time. Also, you get to work from home.
Cons
HORRIBLE pay. When you go through the interview process, you are told that you get paid per account every month. The pay sounds fine until you realize how much time and effort that you actually have to put into each account per month. Most people hold about 10-20 accounts, so it can easily take up a lot of your time. I was technically a part time employee, but I really worked full time. I took the job seriously, but there are a lot of people who do not. I felt like many people were not really qualified to do real client work.

Pros
I love being able to work remotely on my own schedule. There are weekly deadlines, 1:1 meetings, and team meetings, which help you stay connected to the team even though everyone works remote. The pay is decent, you get paid per client and if you work efficiently and get more done hourly, it boosts your "hourly" wage. If you take on more clients, you get paid more. Management is responsive. If you have questions or issues, you can direct them to the manager in charge of you and hear back within a day or two. I love the work; writing posts for a variety of different industries. I get to learn about interesting topics as I find content for different companies. Overall a great place to work.
Cons
No vacation time for contractors. If you want to take time off you have to work ahead with your client load, unless you want to work on vacation. Getting ahead can get difficult when you have a big client load. Sometimes support gets behind, and doesn't respond to questions/issues with clients right away.

Pros
- You get to work from home. - The 99 Dollar Social staff really work to try to help you so you can do well. - Work whenever you want, you can be a night owl or early riser. - Work almost at your own pace (there are certain deadlines). - No micro-managing (except a little, during training). - You get to use your creativity. - You get marketing experience (that adds a little more to the resume too). - You constantly learn about new industries (learning new things is always good). - One pro for me is I have a second job to get ahead on bills. (I have not been great with money.) The flexibility of this job makes it so I can easily have a second job. -No rush hour commute (saves me about 2 hours a day) I value my time. -Save on Gas money and Car maintenance, since there isn't a commute. -Good for introverts. -Flexibility in your schedule. Amazing work/life balance! (Yes I named this twice). -The best freelance job I've ever had. The pay is a little more consistent than other freelance positions. -Most of the people in management started in the current position I am in. -The company is currently working to expand -The staff let me know when I am doing things right.
Cons
Note: I love working for this company. So these aren't necessarily cons, but more be aware of these before you apply. -The amount I get paid to do this job is good for me since I can do it fast enough to make a decent hourly wage. I get paid per account/client you are assigned. So my average hourly wage is depicted by how fast I get things done. This can be hard for some. Starting out when I was still learning the ropes, I made just a little less than minimum wage. After about 2 months though, I got fast enough to make minimum wage. Most people quit before they get to that point. I am happy I stayed with it because now I make much more than minimum wage. - the clients don't always communicate what they want very well (which isn't 99 Dollar Social's fault). But it can be frustrating understanding what your clients truly want sometimes. This is only a problem with like 10% or less of my clients, so it is a rare occurrence. Just some accounts/clients are easier than others. - You have to be a person that can focus (since when you work from home there can be a lot of distractions and temptations, like Netflix) - You have to learn to be more productive. (I am constantly learning tricks to make my process faster and easier. I am also browsing monthly for new free apps that can help my process.) -You have to be self-driven. No one will be constantly telling you what to do. - You have to be an organized person. - My position is more of a contract/freelance position. However, as I stated above the pay is more consistent than with other contract/freelance positions. I've thrived in this position, so for me, there really isn't any real cons that I have. I am fit for this position though. So if you are looking to apply, my recommendation is to make sure you are a person that can focus, that you are organized and able to get things done without having someone look over your shoulder all the time. Also, don't be afraid of a freelance/contract position. I was afraid of them at one time, but if I continued to be afraid of them I wouldn't have this great job now. The work-life balance is the major benefit that I love.

Pros
- Love the ability to work remotely with flexible hours - The work is interesting - I get to learn about many different industries - Excellent support from management - Opportunities to expand skillset, increase knowledge, and move up (I started as a content specialist and had the chance to accept a position as an editor. The job has been perfect as I have a one-year-old and I'm able to complete all of my work around her schedule!) - Helpful training and resources - Positive work environment and nice people to work with! It really feels like a team and everyone looks out for each other. There is a lot of encouragement and I always feel comfortable asking questions or reaching out for help. - It's rewarding to see the company growing and improving
Cons
- It took a few months to get the hang of things as a content editor and get enough accounts to make some decent money

Pros
Pay was good based on the number of accounts I held. It's nice that you can ask for more accounts when you want to increase your payout. Management was really awesome. Anne-Marie was great at keeping everyone updated on changes and giving feedback on our posts. The job was fun not too difficult. I liked working from home and being able to create content when I had time in my schedule rather than working a 9 to 5 job.
Cons
Getting started with your payouts can be slow, but they give you the opportunity to take on accounts quickly if you want to. I was able to earn a good living wage within a few months.

Pros
I have been working with 99 Dollar Social for 2 1/2 years and can't say enough great things about them! From the very start, they have put an emphasis on providing thorough training, resources and support for their content writers, as well as a team-focused environment. They allow for a fully remote-working lifestyle, and complete flexibility in working hours. You can work whenever you want, wherever you want! It's an added benefit to work for a company that is so focused on growth and providing great value to it's clients. I have been fortunate enough to be involved with this company through a few of their transitional phases, and they are consistently re-working themselves in order to be a stronger company that provides top-notch social media services.
Cons
None! All positives working with this company.
