The Bonaverde Berlin is the world's first coffee machine that starts by roasting then grinding raw green coffee beans before brewing, so you can expect the freshest pot of coffee possible. It has a simple interface that's easy to set up: Simply scan the code on the outside of the Bonaverde coffee pack to tell the machine what type of beans you'll be brewing, pour the green beans into the roasting drawer, and the packaging holding the beans doubles as a coffee filter. In our testing, we were able to make a 5-cup carafe in 19 minutes from start to finish (which includes roasting, grinding and brewing time). Though the coffee we made in the Bonaverde had a deliciously fresh-roasted and balanced flavor, we did find it was surprisingly weak. Still, you can adjust the grind and roast strength digitally if you like a stronger brew.
