Founded by Michael Haughn in 1986, Dublin, Ohio-based Haughn & Associates (H&A) is a full-service, family-owned, independent insurance agency with a team of professionals proud to serve the custom needs of businesses and residents throughout our community and beyond. We have grown and expanded considerably over the years, but one thing above all else has stayed consistent since the agency opened its doors 30 years ago – our unwavering commitment to clients. Our primary intent is to offer the best possible price and unique insurance solutions for any given client. Each and every day we venture to find ways in which we can improve upon our high service standards, while striving to remain up to date on the latest insurance industry trends and regulations.

We live and work in Central Ohio, where we help protect the personal property and assets of our neighbors, mitigate and transfer risk for all types of businesses – from a single employer to a large corporation with thousands of employees – and provide employee benefit plans for organizations of all types. Our physical location by no means restricts the services we offer the residents and businesses of Ohio. We are also licensed in the majority of states throughout the country and can provide insurance for clients who have out-of-state personal and business interests, property, and assets to protect.

About Our Founder

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Michael in late 2016 and has been succeeded by his lone surviving son, Brian Haughn.

Michael Haughn earned his reputation as a sales leader in all types of insurance throughout 40-plus years of dedicated service to the industry. He was the first trainee of the world’s largest insurance brokerage, and a former Vice President and Manager of the Construction Division of a local national brokerage firm, where he served on the National Construction Advisory Board as a resource. He was past President of a local construction Insurance Agency. Michael was knowledgeable in all aspects of the industry, but his expertise lied in property, casualty, and surety bonds. He was licensed in Property & Casualty and Life & Health domestically and held non‑resident insurance licenses in the majority of the 50 states. He was the past president of the Central Ohio Chapter of the American Subcontractor Association and served as director for twelve years. Michael was the chapter’s past chairman on the National Committee of Insurance and Surety and was the recipient of the 1986 President’s Award. He was past president of the C.O.C. Associated Builders and Contractors and was a board member for 8 years. As past A.B.C. national director, he attended all of the national Board of Directors meetings. He was a member of the Builders Exchange and was a past member of the National Association of Surety Bond Producers.

Additionally, Michael was known in the industry for designing complex insurance programs for the construction industry and often served as a consultant for legal trials on insurance and surety matters. Active in his community, he was involved in the Upper Arlington Athletic Association and served as a director and First Vice President of the Upper Arlington Booster Association. Further, he served as the chairman of the Executive Committee of the Easter Seals Fund-raiser Man of the Year Tribute Banquet and was an Easter Seal VIP. Michael was an active member of Upper Arlington Lutheran Church and graduated from Kent State University with a BBA in Economics and Finance.
