A patient-centered approach that values providing a relaxing, friendly environment. At Peak Family Dentistry, Dr. Lance Vicente and Dr. Kevin M. Heaney have been treating patients in Bergen County and the surrounding areas for over 35 years. This small office is dedicated to serving patients of all ages and walks of life, including children, adults, and those with special needs and significant medical complexities.

“We see many autistic and differently-abled adults,” says Dr. Vicente. “We understand that these patients may require different methods of treatment, from simply spending more time getting to know them, to seeing them safely in the operating room.” Drs. Vicente and Heaney are very active at Hackensack University Medical Center, both taking time each week to mentor eighteen dental residents in the hospital’s dental clinic; Dr. Heaney is former director of the dental department. Their commitment to future dentists and their success benefits the community and profession greatly.

“I find teaching to be such a rewarding way to give back to the profession,” says Dr. Vicente. In addition to teaching, both doctors have operating room privileges to comprehensively treat some of their more disabled and complex patients. “It is an invaluable resource to have when indicated by a patient’s medical nuances and physical capabilities,” shared Dr. Vicente.

Both doctors follow the philosophy of being lifelong learners. Dr. Vicente is the President-Elect for the Bergen County Dental Society and is currently working through the Kois Center curriculum, an intensive nine-course program focusing on the latest advances in esthetics, implant and restorative dentistry. Both are members of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine; Dr. Heaney a Diplomate of the AADSM. In addition to advancing their education, the doctors continue to advance the technology of their practice, incorporating soft-tissue laser treatments, intraoral scanning and photographs, fully-digital patient records, and 3D printing.
