Classic Remodeling NW

Basement kitchen addition and bathroom remodel. Turned out lovely and we’re very happy with it. The subs did a really nice job. It was started July 2019 and completed Sept 2019.

We found Classic Remodeling NW on Angie's List in the summer of 2018 after a grueling financial struggle with our insurance company (who wanted us to accept their contractor's bid which was only $2,500. to repair our water damaged home). The Classic Remodeling NW team was professional, sincere, compassionate and estimated it would cost more than $30,000. to restore our home. Even tho the insurance company protested and hired their own structural engineer from Los Angeles to assess the house damage; the engineer agreed that Classic Remodeling's bid was accurate. The owner, Ward Hampson, his foreman Russell and in fact all of the crew were on time, professional, cheerful, efficient and offered intelligent advice when we needed it. A wonderful experience.

The original person who did our small bathroom remodel in 10/2013 - actually just replacing old parts without any design changes - did such a poor job that they eventually sent out another person. That employee did replace the lino (from a sheet we had planned to save for our laundry room), and did some other repair work. We just paid a plumber to replace all the under-vanity pipes that were plumbed and placed wrong and had already started leaking from a stress-fracture in the pipe. I recently contacted them twice to let them know of the replacement and a couple of other issues directly related to the tub installation. The bathroom is my son's and I had never showered in it. The tub seems to have no under-support and creaks and wobbles as if it's going to buckle. I also noted that the tub faucet was installed at almost 5 degrees off level. The owners are very personable and nice, but the worst part of this whole experience is that the communications were and still are hit and miss. My first most recent contact was almost two weeks ago and the second was last week. I haven't heard anything.. Note the cost below did not include all the supplies, parts and fixtures we purchased. Nor did it include the linoleum that we had to use to replace the poorly installed flooring. The project cost by Classic Remodeling was about or slightly under $10k.
