The Innervation Team

An A-Team of Seasoned Coaches

Each of us has our own background story, yet we’ve come together with one unified goal: to transform personal well-being for our clients by leading the way in medical grade fitness whether it's at the gym or in everyday life.

With 60,000+ collective coaching hours under our belts (and counting!), you’re going to get a great thing at a good value.

Leadership

Clay Edgin provides mentorship and educational support for our coaches in the medical-grade fitness space, while Katy Jercich handles behind the scenes aspects of the business to ensure smooth operations for everyone involved. Clay and Katy consistently check in with clients to ensure that everything about their experience meets or exceeds their expectations.

Clay Edgin

Over the last 10 years of being a strength coach, gym owner, and rehab specialist, I have amassed over 25,000 hours of in person training experience. What I enjoy the most is taking this vast experience and delivering it to beginner and intermediate lifters on what will work best for their body.

I’ve competed in nearly 100 strength competitions in six countries around the world, setting multiple State, National, and World Records in sports like powerlifting, strongman, and grip strength. I also spent some time as a performing strongman doing feats of strength in public and was even featured on Spike TV’s “Deadliest Warrior” television program.

Since the beginning of my journey over 20 years ago, I have lost over 100 lbs and have made it my life's mission to help people feel empowered by their bodies by giving them simple technique instruction, responsibly programmed exercises, and a finely tuned coaching eye.

My real passion is using things like PEMF, infrared light therapy, frequency specific microcurrent, and electrical stimulation to help people supercharge their recovery and get back to doing the things they love. I have a well appointed rehab studio in my home where I see clients for everything from Parkinson's to joint pain.

In my spare time, I love playing golf, writing, hanging out with my two sons, and paddle boarding.

I train in person clients at Iron Vault Gym, 2101 W Ben White in South Austin and online. Get in contact for coaching!

Katy Jercich

I’ve been obsessed with exploring the world from an early age. When other kids were asking for Game Boys and the hottest hits on cassette tape, I was asking for surfboards and trips deep into nature. I’m always in search for the next adventure, which eventually led me into fitness.

I began coaching in the early 2000’s, working with club sports at UCSD as an athletic trainer. Soon after, the local San Diego surf crowd started hiring me for dry-land training to improve their strength, power and balance in/on the water. Just after a few weeks, those surfers turned it up to eleven!!

And that was it. Strength became the turning point.

I realized that when we’re strong and can control that strength, the world becomes our playground.

Through the years I’ve found a passion for inspiring others to make health a part of their daily lives. I’m influenced by the power of movement and strive to promote simple, thoughtful actions through educational experiences.

I have a degree in Kinesiology from SDSU, am CSCS and USA Weightlifting certified, and have a few nutrition certifications, too. Most of the coaching I do these days is remote.

Since 2020, I’ve called Stockholm, Sweden home. I make art, spend time in the forest with my giant dog, and continue to follow new opportunities and experiences with an open perspective.

Coaches

All Innervation coaches have been hand-selected based on their ability to get strong client results. They’ve got some fancy acronyms trailing their names and years of experience as athletes themselves.

Ren Tipton

I help people move better and get stronger. Since 2014, I have coached people of all shapes and sizes to feel empowered in themselves in and out of the gym. Our time together will be spent developing realistic goals, mastering the basics of strength training and improving mobility. Positive changes in your body will simply be a byproduct of a training program you enjoy.

I also coach a team of powerlifters ranging in experience levels. My most recent personal record was a 341 pound deadlift at 148 pounds body weight. In my free time I attend music festivals and pet my doggies.

I train clients in person at Iron Vault Gym at 2101 W Ben White in South Austin.

Medical Director

Why do we have a Medical Director? Not only is it because our use of FDA-cleared medical devices requires it, but because we want an expert to consult on some of our more challenging client cases. Having Dr. Dave just a phone call away is like having an expert in health, medicine, and strength & conditioning in our pocket at all times.

Dr. Dave Heitmann, DC

Dr. Dave Heitmann, DC is the Medical Director for Innervation. He is now approaching 30 years of obsession in the health and wellness space. He's had over 10,000 patients, owned a sports medicine clinic that coached athletes in all aspects, been a contracted physical medicine provider for a hospital system, a corporate Director of Health and Wellness, has worked with Olympians, professional athletes, X-Games athletes, and much more.

In 2017, Dr. Dave went all virtual and coached CEO's around overcoming their roadblocks. He's been the on the advisory board for his chiropractic school, regional charities, and helped build the second largest rugby complex in the nation. He's received grants and has been published research in biomechanics and energetics.

Fun fact: in 2017, he and his family of four got rid of everything in their life and converted a school bus into a tiny home. They traveled the country for a year farming, hiking, and living without modern day "stuff".
