On December 15th, 2023, I developed and taught a cybersecurity class on Lockheed Martin's Cyber Kill Chain and the MITRE Attack Framework to approximately 30 cyber Airmen. It was a great pleasure teaching our nation's best and brightest in order to expand our knowledge in defending against our near-peer adversaries in cyberspace. Developed by Lockheed Martin, the Cyber Kill Chain is a framework and model used for the identification and prevention of cyber intrusions and attacks. The model identifies what adversaries must target and complete to achieve their objectives. The MITRE Attack Framework is a globally-accessible knowledge base of adversary tactics commonly used by malicious attackers. It is used as a foundation and baseline for the development of threat models and methodologies in the private sector, in government, and in the cybersecurity industry.
