Closing Women's History Month Celebrations! The number of women in the U.S. working in the construction industry has increased. "A data analysis conducted in May by CPWR – The Center for Construction Research and Training shows that in 2022, 11% of construction workers were women – up from 9% in 2011." Unconscious bias and stereotyping can contribute to unfair treatment, discomfort, and barriers in the industry. According to Safety and Health Magazine, one example of stereotyping is that women are not as strong as their male counterparts. -"She can't do the big jobs as men can do." -"I will carry that for you." -"I will do that for you." My name is Dennis, and I am the owner and manager of Macro Construction. I am originally from Ecuador, but I came to the United States at a young age. Construction was my first job opportunity here, and I quickly grew to love the field. Through my construction experience, I learned about the many needs and obstacles homeowners face throughout the construction process. I believe education is a key factor for success. With that in mind, I began pursuing my bachelor's degree at Wentworth Institute of Technology. I have a B.S. in construction management. My field and academic experience allow me to provide our clients with an enhanced customer experience. Macro Construction was founded on my deep passion for the construction industry, the constant challenges homeowners face, and my personal experience with my family's pursuit of the perfect home.
