Considering the evolving nature of e-commerce, technological advancements and the changing tactics of counterfeiters, this MoU will foster a collaborative approach to curbing online rising counterfeiting activities. 📄In 2012, Vestiaire Collective was already committed to tackle counterfeit goods, being a signatory of the French Anti-Counterfeiting Charter. 🎓In 2017, Vestiaire Collective has launched the Vestiaire Academy, an intensive training program to ensure the best authenticating services in the world. 🔬Since 2019, +33 million items were digitally verified by our experts, ensuring quality and authenticity across all listings on our platform. “We believe that this collaborative approach will allow us to better understand, monitor, and tackle the issue of counterfeit goods, thereby safeguarding the interests of our consumers and rights holders. This year, we wanted to redefine the way we see the true cost of an item. Cheap initial prices, constant promotions, rapidly changing trends… Fast fashion isn't just environmentally harmful, it is a financial trap too! What have we learned? 💥 Across all categories, preloved curated fashion items on Vestiaire Collective are 33% more affordable per wear in the long run. 👗 Pre-loved dresses are worn 8+ times more. Decarbonize, Transform, Thrive! 🌍 Vestiaire Collective’s carbon emission reduction targets were approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), the only recognized authority for climate trajectories. Our carbon emission reduction targets include… 🏭… a 30% reduction in our absolute scope 1 & 2 emissions by 2027 compared to 2022, focusing on our energy use 🎯…a 40% reduction in our scope 3 carbon intensity per unit value added, covering all other emissions we generate 🚚…that 70% of our suppliers are SBTi-certified by 2027 Alongside 30+ companies in the Climate Dividends initiative, we are determined to advocate for a greater recognition of business models that positively impact climate change. In total, Vestiaire Collective avoids 3 times more emissions than it generates. This needs to become an integral part of our valuation. If it passes : 💥 Penalties of up to €10 for fast fashion clothing 🚫 Banning ultra fast fashion advertising It is the first legislation action to directly tackle our biggest industry challenge: fast fashion.  Vestiaire Collective was a pioneer in defining fast fashion brands through an activist committee. We have been developing a methodology to delineate fast fashion parameters and banning the ones falling short of our industry-defining standards for quality. We are at the French government’s disposal to contribute to the discussions.
