North Lawndale is one of the poorest community areas in the City of Chicago, ranking among the poorest 10 out of 77.

    Wrote proposal which secured one entire city block of vacant land from City of Chicago for the purpose of constructing 72 single family and townhouses under the New Homes for Chicago affordable housing program. Before developed, the land laid vacant since the Martin Luther King Riots of 1968. I acted as the joint ventures PM that planned, constructed, developed, managed, marketed and sold the homes to low-income residents. Budget: $19 million.

    Wrote proposal which secured vacant land from the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) for the purpose of constructing a 30k square foot community development shopping center. I acted as the joint ventures PM that developed and constructed the facility comprised of tenants whose businesses promoted programs, services and activities directed at revitalizing communities and creating economic independence for its residents. Budget: $5 million.
