ARC Training Centre for Information Resilience (CIRES)’s Post

🏆 Congratulations to our runner-up of the Poster Session at last month's #PhD school: Huy Nguyen from The University of Queensland! Huy's research poster "Sepsis prediction for paediatric patients – inpatient (ICU) environment" clearly presented the motivation, methodology, and expected outcomes of the project in a professional and clearly laid out presentation. Huy is a CIRES PhD researcher based at UQ. His research centers on applying deep learning #algorithms within a #medical context. By employing graph neural network models, his research project aims to effectively predict #sepsis onset among paediatric patients in the ICU, assisting doctors in patient treatment, and in the diversion of resources. “Presenting and explaining my poster at the PhD School event was one of the highlights of my PhD career so far. I was extremely pleased to have an opportunity to convey my research to our peers. Also, it was helpful for me to observe other students’ presentations of their posters. The event broadened my knowledge of #deeplearning in other fields, and I also made some new connections with people working on a similar topic. The event motivated me to continue my current research, and also experiment with different methodologies learned from other presentations." Congratulations Huy!
