Had such a good time volunteering for Merging Vets and Players at the Luke AFB Air Show, and had a hard time parking, but the XO of USMC Recruiting here in Phoenix helped me out. Thank you, sir!!! Here are some of the shots I got.

Good morning all, a very good friend of mine, Sister, Veteran Advocate and my list goes on, but I won’t. She has reached out to me looking for photography interns for The H.E.A.R.T. Center ( was founded in 2014 with the mission of using horses and recreation to create alternative and intentional therapeutic learning opportunities for students with developmental disabilities.). The center is located off of Beardsley/37 Ave. Check out this job at The H.E.A.R.T. Center: https://lnkd.in/dXeURScz

We're all so frightened by time, the way it moves on and the way things disappear. That's why we're photographers. We're preservationists by nature. We take pictures to stop time, to commit moments to eternity. Human nature made tangible. -Ben Kodachrome Oshana Digital Productions

Good morning!!! I had a cancellation for an interview for tomorrow morning at 10:00 am, if you are interested in sitting with me for the project please reach out. I am looking for Veterans in the Phoenix area that have been diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress (PTS) to photograph and interview for the "PTSD, The Invisible Scar" project. “PTSD, The Invisible Scar” is a photographic still and video documentary project about veterans who have been diagnosed with PTSD. It invites the viewers to look beyond the cause and facades and into the private lives of our country’s veterans who suffer. As a retired Navy veteran, photographer and widower, I am trying to bridge the gap between these worlds, exposing the invisible scars that our brave men and women bare, I will be asking some extremely difficult questions during the interview pertaining to your diagnosis as well as your time in service. The purpose is to put a face to PTS and raise the awareness. I have been working on the project since 2013 and it has been extremely rewarding helping the Veterans that have participated in the project. This year was traumatic for me as well, I lost my wife of 22 years to Metastatic Breast Cancer, while I was beside her, which has given me a greater understanding of trauma within the volunteers. Please contact me if interested in sharing. Christopher Boats Oshana, vermontboats@cox.net, 623-696-6404, or message me at FB: Christopher Boats Oshana. https://lnkd.in/dZmraCig

Have a latte. Well, just “finished” the draft for Sven’s story, it went from 43 to 17 pages, by deleting extra spaces, some of my interjections, and using a lot of Grammarly. Now just waiting on approval before putting it live. It will be a link, because it is long. PTSD, The Invisible Scar

I had interviewed Sven back in July, our time together was a little more than 2 hours, I had not gone back to pull his story, because at the time it truly OVERWHELMED me to listen and hand transcribe the audio. I finally pulled the transcription from the audio, before the first go through it was 43 pages, brought it down to 28 by editing out the pause. So far with transcription and pause editing total time 2.5 hours. Taking a little break and then hitting the second go ‘round.
