✨ As an SIIT Alumni, I am so proud to see this. Career awareness and training opportunities for Indigenous Career Seekers … what a great initiative with SIIT and Nutrien!
Employers: We need to do more of this …
✨ Indigenous People need to know about your company, and what you are doing for Indigenous communities, before we consider applying for your programs and positions. ✨
I talk with A LOT of employers and the first thing many want to know is where to post positions to increase Indigenous applicants.
I tell them:
✅ There is lots of work to do beforehand to prepare your workforce -(people, programs, policies, culture).
✅ When you take the time to do Indigenous Awareness Training, and many more steps, you will prepare your internal organization which is the first step.
✅ Once you have a welcoming work culture that understands, and is motivated to advance Reconciliation …. you can then work on recruiting Indigenous People.
✅ This is how you will find success increasing Indigenous applicants in your wonderful organization.
Our amazing RAAN members are taking great initiative to action and be held accountable for advancing Indigenous Reconciliation efforts in their organizations:

Our Yorkton Mining Industry Pre-Employment Program students got to tour the Nutrien Rocanville mine yesterday!💪⛏
It was such a fantastic experience! The tour guides were informative and eager to show the students their experience and the work they do in the mines. Thank you to Nutrien for their support of SIIT's MIPP program.
Sales Manager ESCO BRAZIL
6moIt was great to have our Weir ESCO president in Brazil. It was a great opportunity to share some customer expiriences with ESCO and Motion Metrics products, as well a positive exposure for the guys from sales team, that could share a litle about their daily routine and relationship with Weir ESCO customers.
