Flashback: A first beautiful thing of the day: taking a two hour walk with the dogs and our children all from our front door. Clocking in 13,000 steps with this kind of scenery changes the brain and lifts the heart. This was after a double batch of American-style pancake breakfast made by yours truly. (Those are the kind of pancakes that people in the States call pancakes. :) And it preceded a Sunday roast dinner with the whole family, including my Mom, of pork with crackling & apples-from-the-garden sauce, creamy leeks, mushy peas, and butter-mashed potatoes.
