I have been invited to represent Australia at the 2024 10th Goeje International Arts Festival in South Korea later this year.... currently stretching up the paper... D'Arches of course! This is a wonderful project to be tackling at the moment and I am enjoying the theme immensely "Language of coexistence, Art". We all need more 'arts' in our lives at the moment as artists are the wellspring of creativity, new ideas, originality and happiness.... we rebuild when others can't, we repurpose when others can't, we find ways to see things anew.... we are the 'canaries in the mine' and in difficult times, we bring fresh 'ways of being' into the foreground! So my work is off to South Korea, one of our neighbouring countries which makes me smile... If you do come to our open studio day, I can tell you about it! In the meantime, keep being creative in all you do! Here is a teaser... this is part of my work for Goeje!

In the layers of the dunes out at Mungo in western NSW, lay the bones of people from over 120,000 years ago, the forebears of our indigenous nations. Be warned, because if we continue to fight amongst us trying to take control, own everything, be richer and bigger than others, if we continue to let greed, hatred and division rule us, then we are doomed to a similar fate.... our bones will lay in dust .... stop the wars, stop the hatred, stop the greed, stop the control and learn to love and respect each other in all our differences - we are one human family! #stopthewar #bekind #loveoneanother #respect and yes, that is one of my watercolour paintings!

My paintings have been chosen to hang in "Directors Collection" at the Gang Gang Gallery in Lithgow from 12 January to 23 March 2024. It's a lovely space and well worth visiting ... here are the works of mine that will be shown there! These paintings are of our arid deserts where the shimmering dust mesmerizes me and I just have to sit and gaze in wonder... I have added glass powders to the polymer paints to all ow the works to glow and also change colour as the light of day changes... they are also very intricately detailed as everything in the desert is so fragile and I wanted to capture that delicacy... the desert can be harsh but t the same time, terribly beautiful. I have explored our deserts over many years and continue to be fascinated by the energies that flow there. I do hope that you can take time out from your busy lives to wander into the gallery as it is a haven for art lovers!
