Most of us likely remember our new company training weeks or months. They tend to be periods of intense learning mixed with excitement, anticipation and a hint of nervous energy. We recently held a closing ceremony at FUSO to wrap up our new recruits' training for 2024. New joiners experienced a vibrant mix of product training, presentations, and a host of other activities. April marks the start of a new business year and the beginning of a journey for many new employees. We are excited to announce, starting this year, the launch of a new training program for mechanics inspired by the German vocational program. In collaboration with the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Japan (AHK Japan), the program will be attended by young mechanics, including recent graduates in Japan. Through a combination of practical work experience and engaging lectures, participants can acquire advanced knowledge and skills in just 3 years, with the goal of enhancing customer service quality. Welcome to the 218 new members of the FUSO family! The excited new employees received a warm welcome from senior management and employees at the initiation ceremony held in Yokohama. Let us congratulate these new employees and support them in their new beginnings!

In 2022, we visited customer relations manager Kei Ogura in a Tokyo suburb to discuss his passion project, renovating a 1984 Rosa bus. Two years and many weekend hours later, the bus is now fully licensed and ready for the road. “It's a genuinely joyous feeling. I really am delighted.” Ogura-san said. “I park the bus in front of my house, and every time I glimpse at it out the window, I get an incredible feeling of satisfaction.” This week, we are celebrating Ogura-san's success and dedication to bringing the classic bus back to life. Operating in the frigid conditions near the Arctic Circle in Finland, two FUSO eCanters have become some of Daimler Truck's northernmost electric trucks to date. DB Schenker, Europe's largest fleet operator, deployed the pair in January 2024, further proving the eCanter's capability thanks to its electric preconditioning feature which heats the battery with power from the grid. Two luxury coaches designed by renowned Japanese industrial designer Eiji Mitooka were recently handed over to Hyogo, Japan-based Shinki Bus. The latest models, named "YUI PRIMA OLIVIA" are the company's second joint project with Mitooka following the 2016 debut of "YUI PRIMA".
