WorkHuman Live 2024 may have ended, but the discussions surrounding AI and its impact on our future continue. Is it artificial intimacy or augmented intelligence? How can we stay relevant in this ever-changing landscape? What is the path to deeper human intelligence? I am walking away boosted by the healthy part coaching plays in time of uncertainty and change: Firstly, the answer lies within ourselves - as Mark Pollock's life experience so aptly demonstrates, when challenges are choosing you .. “YOU are the answer." Secondly, when feeling lost, take a moment to reflect on where you've come and build your grounded confidence, one conversation at a time. Thirdly, authenticity is the key to success and happiness - it's all about honesty and vulnerability, minus the self-righteousness, thank you Kedar Gajanan Kale. And lastly, the power of choice is a potent reminder of our ability to control our response to any given situation. Go Brenée! I'm excited to see what the future holds for us and how we'll continue to evolve in this ever-changing world. Equally excited to continue to help my clients on their self-discovery and embracing their wholeself journey. #AI #Authenticity #PowerofChoice #coaching

Post pandemic, Houston downtown has undergone a remarkable #transformation, turning skyscrapers and buildings into canvases for beautiful murals. With the 3rd season #bigartbiggerchange unveiling today, the city has become the biggest open-air museum in the states and a hub for engaging conversations on climate change, sustainability, and social justice. Let's give a big shoutout to Street Art for Mankind for curating this initiative, made possible by the visionary commissioner Rodney Ellis, the long standing support of former Mayor Sylvester Turner, and generous commitment of companies like TotalEnergies TotalEnergies Renewable Solutions It's amazing to see the city morphing into a work of art and art supporting simple conversations to raise awareness on climate and social challenges. Join the conversation on #socialchange, #climateaction, and #sustainability while enjoying the breathtaking art installations in #HoustonArt. Thank you Mariela Poleo for sharing the enlightening work done by Dr Luisa Palacios and her team on women’s board representation in the #energy sector. Encouraging to see the policy momentum across the globe, and how setting goals for transparency and accountability are needle movers. #Chile is certainly taking a bold move. I’ll take slow progress over no progress anytime! #boarddiversity #sustainability #corporategovernance #womenonboards
Multidisciplinary career in energy, finance, academia, corporate boards. Professional and academic experience on ESG and energy transition, crisis management and geopolitical risks.
The Center on Global Energy Policy just published my report on Women on Energy Company Boards comparing emerging markets and advanced economies, and the policies to close the gap. Here are the main highlights: ✅ EMDEs as diverse as Brazil, Chile, Egypt, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Morocco, Pakistan, and the United Arab Emirates have adopted policies to increase the share of women on boards in the last several years. ✅ What is the rationale that policymakers in EMDEs are citing for pursuing such policies? 🔸 Improvements in corporate governance, overall better decision-making, greater compliance, and lower corruption risks 🔸 Better management of sustainability factors (including environmental performance) and alignment with SDGs; 🔸 Pressure from both local and global investors. ✅ EMDEs are pursuing diverse policies, in some cases emulating advanced economies, but also innovating to reflect EMDEs' realities, such as: 🔸 Mandatory and voluntary quotas for publicly listed companies. 🔸 Mandates for state-owned enterprises (SOEs), adopted by Chile, Colombia, Indonesia, Kenya, Panama, South Africa, Indonesia and the United Arab Emirates. Brazil is considering legislation. 🔸 KPIs in Sustainability-linked bonds (SLBs), Chile's 2023 SLB framework has women representing at least 40% of corporate board seats by 2031 as one of its KPIs from 14% in 2023. ✅ Given the rationale and the policy efforts up to date in EMDEs, is this making any difference in sectors that are key for the energy transition like energy companies? Not yet. 🔸 While the share of women on the boards of directors of energy and utility companies has been increasing globally, that growth masks an important gap between advanced economies and EMDEs. A gap that could widen given the EU’s directive mandating 40% WOB of listed companies by 2026. 🔸 At 34%, WOB share in integrated oil companies from advanced economies exhibits a 22-point gap with their peers in EMDEs, most of which are national oil companies which register an average of 12% of WOB. 🔸 Coal companies appear to have the lowest share of WOB in the energy sector globally. 🔸Share of WOB is growing faster in renewable energy companies in both advanced economies and EMDEs suggesting new energy industries integrate sustainability criteria faster than legacy ones. ✅Next Steps: 🔸 The spotlight on EMDE companies is likely to increase in coming years, given the trends of future GHG emission growth. 🔸Absent policy action, the gap in WOB between EMDEs and advanced economies will continue widening. 🔸Even minor steps, like voluntary guidance about WOB, can make a difference. Investor pressure has shown to be particularly effective. 🔸Increasing WOB share in energy companies could be a low-hanging fruit for EMDEs management of sustainability risks. Many thanks to Mariana Judice de Mello for her invaluable research assistance. Here is the report: https://lnkd.in/e--FF_xB

Witnessing the transformation of a dragonfly can be a breathtaking experience. But what happens when this transformation hits a roadblock? This morning, a beautiful Anax Emperor dragonfly was stuck on its back on my patio. With a little help, the mosquito-hawk snuggled the branch I placed nearby and used it for support to prepare for its next phase. This experience reminded me that even as humans, we sometimes need a little scaffolding to help us through our own transformations. A supporting presence can make all the difference. Just like the dragonfly, we too can overcome our obstacles with a little help. Let's remember to be there for each other during the highs and lows of our own transformations. #transformation #support #emergence #coaching

Join me in celebrating International Women's Day by recognizing the preschool version of Wise.Women.Wednesdays 2024 cohort, a.k.a the Bangs Gang! As women, we have the power to put our feminine forces in motion and create solutions. Every month, we gather to share ideas, experiences, doubts, questions, to network, to support one another, and to embody the essence of collaboration and sharing. Let's take a moment to appreciate the child within us, full of dreams and hopes. By making time for fun and play, we can continue to empower the next generation of women to be confident, bold, and collaborative. Together, we can inspire change and create a better future for all. Happy International Women’s Day! Check out the video of the Bangs Gang in action. 🫶🏻
