Let’s talk skin today? I get it, you have stock piled on skincare but great skin comes from good nourishment within. We are constantly shedding old cells and replacing with younger ones. A steady supply of key nutrients to these younger cells is essential for glowing skin So here are my quick fire tips for that flawless glow ✅Water is your friend 💧💧💧Drink, drink & drink some more. 6 to 8 glasses of water will give skin that supple bounce. ✅Five portions of fruits and veg? Yes please. Load up your antioxidants to fight those free radicals(pollutants, smoking & even UV rays from the sun) ✅Vitamin C does the trick. I call this one my super antioxidant. Perfect for immune boost to help blemishes and wounds heal quick, leaving you with radiant skin. Oranges, broccoli, strawberries, blueberries, sweet potatoes are my go to for vitamin C ✅Stock up on Vitamin E & Selenium Get your Vitamin E from ; avocado, hazelnuts, almonds, pine nuts, olive oil. And selenium from; oats, Brazil nuts, tofu, sunflower seeds ✅Omega 3 fatty acids help in keeping you skin supple and moisturised. Some great sources include oily fish, seeds and nuts. Where do I even begin sharing the immense benefits of Soya?🤭 Well, let’s just say if you’re looking for a healthy alternative to MILK 🥛 and MEAT 🥩 then SOYA it is. Soya is an excellent source of plant-based protein and fat - with a high fibre content making it fabulous for your gut health. It’s packed full of essential amino acids, minerals and vitamins including : Vitamin K, Thiamine, Folate, copper, manganese & phosphorus. For all my #lactoseintolerant people, soya milk is a yummy alternative ✅ Soya also helps to improve your thyroid function, ✅it improves male hormone levels and feminisation, ✅it is immensely beneficial to female reproductive health too👌🏾 Heard of TOFU? It’s soybean curd ☺️you can stir-fry it, bake it, grill it or add it as an ingredient in many of your dishes😋 Meat? Nah, just TEMPEH - Soya that has been cooked, slightly fermented and formed into cakes 😋 🛑 Be sure to check for ALLERGIES especially in children, though many of them tend to outgrow it. A product that is far more sustainable for the planet than meat & dairy gets my vote all day, every day ✳️ Right, are you team Soya or not? Please share in the comments below 🍃🌱 #plantbasednutrition #plantbasedfood

Hey Beautiful people☺️ It’s #diabetesawareness week right here on @nutrilogyhealth So you’ve taken a test and found out you have type 2 diabetes - not to worry because I come bearing good news 💯 Type 2 Diabetes is a disease that can very easily be managed in 2 main ways : 1. Your mindset - accepting that you have diabetes and believing that you have what it takes to beat it 2. Your diet - you are what you eat & I mean literally in this case. You will most certainly have to make drastic yet very necessary dietary changes. Starting out by avoiding foods with high fat & sugar content 🍔🌭🍩🍪🧁🍦🍨❌❌ You totally will have to learn to practice portion control especially if you are overweight. This will help you keep your blood sugar levels within the target rate.🎯 You’re gonna learn to enjoy a diet consisting of complex carbs like brown rice, wholegrains, oatmeal, vegetables, beans and lentils. Plus, heart-friendly fats like avocado🥑 , almonds, peanuts 🥜 , pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, olive oil, etc. Be sure to book an appointment so together, we can design a customised plan that meets your health targets, without compromising on your food preferences, cooking habits and also your budget☺️ #diabetestype2

Right, so picking it up from where we left off. If you’ve been feeling a little off & something at the back of your mind is whispering diabetes, consider the following for a little self diagnosis : •Have you been drinking water more than normal? • Have noticed you tend to get hungry too often? • Do you need to urinate more than you normally would especially at night? •Feeling tired too often? • Have you noticed blurry vision? • Are you loosing weight drastically without trying to? • Do your wounds take longer to heal? If you are answering yes to 4-5 out of these 7 questions, then, maybe just then you might have diabetes But don’t panic 😌 take a deep breath. There are tests that can help you confirm this for sure - including a random blood sugar test, fasting blood sugar test, oral glucose tolerance test amongst others. Don’t wait till later. If you suspect you might have diabetes, then I highly recommend you take the test ASAP. A quick blood test at your GP should suffice or you could pop down to your local pharmacy. You know how they say, there’s no time than the present to get you checked out. Okay, another long post but I’m so hoping that by taking time to put these out, someone is going to find it useful or at least know someone else who would.

That’s 1 in 14 people 🤯 Around 90% of people with diabetes have type 2 diabetes. 😟 185 people are amputated due to diabetes and more than 700 lives are cut short by diabetes 😢 The stats are distressing! Sorry not trying to scare only here to spread awareness 🙏 That’s why I’m dedicating this week to sharing as much info as I can - hence the long posts 😅 What is Type II Diabetes?
