35 years ago today, Sir Tim Berners-Lee created one of the most important inventions of our time, the World Wide Web. Tim built the Web as a tool to empower humanity. Encompassing its whole infrastructure was the intention to allow for collaboration, foster compassion and generate creativity.   OPUS is a long-time supporter of the World Wide Web Foundation, with our Chair of the Board & Founder Sam Tidswell-Norrish sitting on the World Wide Web Foundation's Board.    Today we join together with Sir Tim, Lady Rosemary Leith Berners-Lee and the World Wide Web Foundation to mark this incredible milestone, but also to advocate their call to action to shift the collective mindset of global citizens and to overturn the online world being dictated by profit to one that is dictated by the needs of humanity.   Similarly to Tim’s mission 35 years ago, OPUS’s mission is to unlock opportunity for all and to bring together people, groups, places, and ideas in an increasingly isolated world.   Read the full open letter from Tim here: https://lnkd.in/eEugZNqU #webforgood #35years #britishmade #innovation #futureinnovation #inventors #entrepreneurship #fortheworld
