As you might already know the conforming mortgage loan limit was raised to $726,200 for a single family home in 99% of the US. Many of us in the mortgage business (self included) initially responded by saying "that's crazy!". So, I dug around and matched it to the average price of a single family home in the US over time. The resulting chart here makes it seem not so crazy. One interesting thing is that it's never dropped year to year even though home prices have. #mortgage #conforminglimit #homeprices #mortgagerates
