Not that long ago “1000 songs in your pocket” was a revolution in music technology, and now the day is coming when we’ll be able to walk around with our car in our pocket. Cars are now "software-defined," meaning their capabilities can be upgraded through software rather than changing physical parts, as explained by Gartner automotive analyst Mike Ramsey. And unlike traditional vehicles, #SDVs also allow for the introduction of new functions and value. Will SDVs become as common as mp4s soon? Car manufacturers have work to do as they transform from hardware-defined to software-defined, but the fact that SDVs were a big conversation this year at #CES means we’re getting close. Agree?
