I help people with Bipolar Mood Disorder and have been facilitating psychosocial groups since 2004

Before starting my private practice in June 1991, I spent about eight years in the child protection field; first at the Johannesburg Child Welfare Society and then at Greater Germiston Child & Family Welfare Society. My positions both involved screening and training prospective foster parents to ensure people with ulterior motives were not selected; (In those days, there was no Register of Child Offenders for both emotional, physical and sexual abuse). Also, I had a regular time for visiting foster parents’ homes to see if everything was OK with both foster parents and foster kids and to write what was then called Section 16 reports for the Government Department of Social Development. We talked for a long time when visiting the foster parents’ homes to discover their true feelings about their foster children and to gain their trust which is essential in any social worker-client relationship
