I n my experience working at two Child Protection NGOs (non-governmental organisations), a case manager is usually a social work supervisor who checks the social workers’ reports and helps them maintain their morale in a very demanding occupation. An intake officer is the first point of contact between an NGO and the public: The intake officer in a Child Protection agency takes notes of suspected cases of abuse - emotional, physical, and sexual involving children. He/she then in collaboration with senior staff at the agency selects a social worker to investigate the case, who will, if necessary, write a report for the Presiding Officer of the Children’s Court. In the two Child Protection agencies I worked at - social workers were allocated different neighbourhoods to cover when investigations into suspected cases of abuse and neglect were reported to the agency. First posted on Quora.com as an answer about social workers roles. 😊

When prospective clients inquire about what social workers do: " Social workers help clients by first identifying their needs together with the client/s in what is called a needs assessment . An example in my social work practice is a client who is suffering from Bipolar Mood Disorder, one of my special interests. 😊

Roelien Herholdt I had a wonderful opportunity to learn about Virginia #Axline's method of play therapy from #Yvonne Blake, while I was working at the Johannesburg Child Welfare Society.
Let's rewind to the carefree days of childhood play. Little did we know, we were shaping our future selves. 🌟 Children learn crucial life skills like problem-solving and empathy through play.

For people who love #trivia as much as I do -"The English word money first appeared in the 14th century. It was derived from the Latin word moneta, a name given to the Roman goddess Juno, at or near whose temple the Romans first began minting coins around 300 BCE." 😊 Source: Wikipedia
