Read before you join any ONLINE CAT coaching, I have been conducting online CAT coaching and have a mixed feeling for it. For some students, it appears to be best option, for many it's a trap and they ultimately spoil their entire year of preparation by not getting any value out of it. I have realized that online classes for CAT or any aptitude test are very less effective and can be very confusing if you are not aligned with the teacher. Some major hindrance that I felt while teaching on screen are. 1. If I don’t see the face of my students, I can't feel their expression and can't verify anything about what they are learning. 2. It runs almost one-way communication (despite platform is open for chat and talk), and we all know, is highly ineffective in math/quant or mainly aptitude teaching. 3. Class management and aligning the lecture with situation is very difficult as if you can't see students, you can't read their mind. 4. Less attentive students: It's not the fault of students or teacher but it happens inevitably. Online classes (for aptitude test prep) are good only if you are already half baked. If your basics and general understanding of math's or math type situations are not up to the mark, you should avoid on-line CAT coaching and join some classroom program like SMARG. If you find it valuable, please share this in your network.

Career in Public Policy Statement-1 Look around yourselves and check for all the flaws around you (big or small) like garbage on roads, roads with potholes, poor people begging around in miserable condition, pollution, corruption, unemployment, poor fundamental infrastructure etc. All these are the result of failure of public (remember here public denotes the government) policy approaches of India. Low research and unprofessional approach has been plaguing our policy process (planning, implementation and evaluation) with numerous flaws. Statement-2 Look around yourselves and check for all the flaws around you (big or small) like garbage on roads, roads with potholes, poor people begging around in miserable condition, pollution, corruption, unemployment, poor fundamental infrastructure etc. All these governance, socio-economic, environmental and even political issues can be dealt with appropriate policy processes. With this need it is critical to develop our country's expertise on every subprocess of policy making like research for policy, agenda setting, strategy formation, adaptation, implementation and evaluation. You can see the opportunities here in this area. Like other multidisciplinary programs public policy should be taught at PG level with extensive co-curricular activities for pragmatic learning. Here is a list of some PG programs (government institutions) which provide a degree in Public Policy. CUET PG-24 Major courses through General Papers COQP-11, COQP-12 (without any Domain Specific Tests) and COQP-17 (GK and media related) All these choices are based on college/institution/university's reputation, and some are based on innovation in courses and cities. We don't claim about their performances, but these are the choices we found out best as per our research.

A must read for every individual concerned about Indian Education System (Especially in Development Sector) Obituary to some PG courses from Tata Institute of Social Sciences Some events go unnoticed. As there were no news about them. In a storm of disruption which top management of University Grants Commission (UGC) and TISS have introduced this year a very significant change (removal of three Post Graduation Programs from TISS Tuljapur) happened without any discussion among stakeholders. The three courses I am talking about are, MA in Development Policy Planning and Practice, MA in Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship MA in Natural Resource Governance and Sustainable Livelihood If you can read these names, I don't think I need to explain the impact of these courses on the life of students and society. Since decades hundreds of students got trained here and working for NGOs, CSR, government and as entrepreneurs in social sector. In recent years, TISS has introduced many self-financed courses to train people for corporates and now this step of removing these subsidized and social sectors-based programs, is going to snatch a right of higher education from 90 students each year. I request all decision makers and shareholders to take stand against this. These were wonderful courses, and a little evolution would have made these very critical for grassroot development for entire India. I am also tagging some of the alumni of these programs, please write something in protest and let us at least reach to people who can bring back these courses. Done with CAT? Through multiple sites or references you must have estimated your percentile as well as expected calls. Now what next? Most of the business school do not treat test scores as only critical component for selection but the PI and WAT also holds on to average 30 percent weightage in your selection. What do you do to prepare for PI? Most of you would either try preparing for some frequently asked questions with some current affairs or just taking mock interviews with some seniors or teachers to get assessed. And these strategies in reality do not make you prepare for any contingencies or neither for actual assessment criteria which lie beneath those interview questions. Don't leave yourself on luck or on the mercy of teachers. Prepare yourself, not only for interviews but for the life ahead. #MBA_PI #Personal_Interview #WAT #IIM

Have you heard of ✨"vanilla trap"✨️ for new businesses/startups? New age economists, experts, analysts, investment experts and probably everyone who are in this start up ecosystem are not aware of this age-old wisdom, which any basic economics textbook used to have some decades ago. ✨️A very simple and literal explanation for this would be, with an exciting innovation in taste or flavor in ice-cream, you may start a business, may also create some hype, may see some good days of peoples' appreciations (and you find it easy to enter in ice-cream market). But you will never survive if you are not making yourself expert in vanilla (a simple core product but absence of it makes survival tough in the ice-cream market). ✨ It surprises me that you won't find anything on this great wisdom through google or YouTube or in any management expert's opinion which can easily explain most of the recent failures of startups. #startup #investment #startups #economy #management #unacademy #byjus #ludo #udayy #sonusood #boat #sharktank #innovation #gonuts #qin1 #economics #entrepreneurship #funding #venturecapital #newventure
