"Marutto Fukushima Summer Festival"- Supporting Fukushima Prefecture's GAP Challenge at MuSuBu!

From August 19 (Fri.) to 21 (Sun.), 2022, Happo-en will host the "Marutto Fukushima Summer Festival" at MuSuBu to introduce the charm of GAP products from Fukushima Prefecture.

For this event will be offering an original menu using Fukushima Prefecture's GAP ingredients, a mini corner for tasting Fukushima Prefecture's famous sake, and an online exchange program to connect with producers of GAP ingredients. Our team has also prepared a quiz corner related to Fukushima Prefecture's GAP where you can enjoy this summer, and more! Perfect for children to enjoy during their summer vacation while being exposed to the charms of Fukushima Prefecture. 

August 21, was the day that Fukushima Prefecture was founded.

Now, Fukushima Prefecture has adopted a new slogan, "Shaping Fukushima one step at a time," which has lead them to taking on a variety of challenges as it heads toward that next stage.

One of Fukushima Prefecture's challenges is the "Fukushima GAP Challenge,” which aims to be number one prefecture in Japan to hold the most GAP certificates. The overall hope for this challenge is to deliver safety and peace of mind for their prefectural products. Fukushima Prefecture is committed to "GAP" in order to realize sustainable agriculture so that delicious food and scenery can be enjoyed for years to come.

For three days from August 19 (Fri.) to 21 (Sun.), 2022, this event will introduce Fukushima Prefecture's GAP initiatives, connect with GAP food producers through an online broadcast, and offer an original menu developed by MuSuBu chefs using Fukushima Prefecture's GAP ingredients. Please join us for three days of fun and enjoy the charms of Fukushima Prefecture in conjunction with the upcoming Fukushima Foundation Day.

*GAP is an abbreviation of "Good Agricultural Practice," meaning "Good Agricultural Process Management. The purpose of GAP is to ensure better agricultural production and food safety through control points for safe agricultural production in terms of food, environment, and labor safety at the production site.

1. (Cafe) A special menu prepared by MuSuBu chef that uses GAP ingredients and other delicious foods from Fukushima Prefecture.

Fukushima Prefecture is one of the leading agricultural prefectures in Japan, and is overflowing with delicious ingredients such as vegetables, fruits, and rice. MuSuBu Chefs have prepared a scrumptious menu for the event, using GAP ingredients from Fukushima Prefecture as well as other summer ingredients from Fukushima Prefecture.

This udon salad is filled with colorful and appetizing summer vegetables from Fukushima Prefecture, such as eggplant, asparagus, cherry tomatoes, and cucumbers. The noodles are made with rice flour noodles called "U-mai-men" made from Fukushima rice and are gluten-free.

Happo-en’s chefs have created an original syrup using peaches from Fukushima Prefecture. Inside the ice you will find some peach jelly hidden inside! This luxurious shaved ice filled with peaches is only available during this event.

This sweet that was so popular last year that it sold out every day and will only be available on August 20 (Sat.) and 21 (Sun.), with a limited quantity of 40 pieces. Fukushima Blueberry Uzumaki Bread made with Malted Amazake ... 400円 (tax incl.)

This is an event-only bread produced by Happo-en’s original bakery brand, BLUE TREE. The dough is kneaded with Fukushima blueberries to create a lovely spiral pattern. One of the ingredients used to enhance the rich, deliciousness of the bread made with "additive-free malt amazake," which was developed by Happo-en and Fukushima Prefectural Iwase Agricultural High School.

This malt amazake is made with GAP rice produced by students of Iwase Agricultural High School, who obtained GAP certification. 

Please enjoy the sweet and sour taste of Fukushima blueberries, the fluffy texture of the bread, and the gentle flavor enhanced by additive-free malt amazake.

2. (Marche) Fukushima Prefecture's GAP Foods Market

For this event we will be holding a Fukushima Marche, where you can purchase products grown by GAP-certified producers in Fukushima Prefecture. Enjoy the taste of fresh GAP ingredients from Fukushima Prefecture, seasonal summer vegetables, and other ingredients grown with the blessings of Fukushima Prefecture.

In addition, there will be a special visit from Mr. Yutaro Shinohara, the Chairman of "Shun-Sen-Nai Shokusai Shinoya"!

On Friday, August 19, for one day only Mr. Yutaro Shinohara of "Shunsennhai Shokusai Shinoya", a well-known local produce specialist in Fukushima Prefecture, will be selling his products at this Marche! Come and enjoy the charm of Fukushima Prefecture's agricultural products while learning about the secrets behind these fruits and vegetables!

3. (Sake Tasting) Sake Tasting Mini Corner of Fukushima Prefecture's Famous Sake!

For the first time in history, Fukushima Prefecture boasts the highest number of gold medals in the National New Sake Competition in Japan for the ninth consecutive year. Inside the store, our team has prepared a mini sake tasting area, where visitors can sample the famous sake from Fukushima Prefecture, which boasts high popularity both in Japan and abroad.

The sake used in during the sake tasting will also be available for purchase. We hope you will enjoy the taste of famous sake from Fukushima Prefecture, a well-known sake production area.

4. (Online) "Fukushima GAP Challenge" - Online exchange with producers and quiz corner!

Fukushima Prefecture aims to realize sustainable agriculture through GAP (Good Agricultural Practice). In the store, we will explain about GAP and introduce Fukushima Prefecture's "Fukushima GAP" initiative. In addition, we will introduce the "Fukushima GAP Challenger (Fukushima Prefecture GAP Challenger)," a program to ensure the safety and security of prefectural products.

GAP Challenger (GAP certified)" who provide the safety and security of prefectural products, as well as the producers who provide the ingredients for this menu will also be introduced. We will also hold a challenge quiz corner where children can learn about GAP in a fun way! Answer the quiz and get a great gift!

For this week’s workshop, we will offer a “Mame-Daruma" painting workshop held in cooperation with "Takashiba Deco-Yashiki” from Koriyama City, Fukushima Prefecture.

Make your own cute, miniature Mame-Daruma! In addition, a summer festival corner will be set up in the store! Enjoy the summer festival atmosphere at MuSuBu and make this summer a memorable one.
