The fuel trim on modern fuel injected vehicle’s are controlled by the ECM, also referred to as ECU, or ECM. Most factory ECU's are set to maintain a 14.7:1 air/fuel ratio. This is known as a stoichiometric fuel mix however this is a lean mix as well because of rigorous emission standards the manufacturers have to comply with. On new generation fuel injected motors, from the early 80's you have been unable to adjust the Air/Fuel Ratio in order to add more HP Potential to the powertrain - with rejetting, like on carbureted models. Lambda-Boost mode (applies on emission controlled vehicle’s only) 
- Dual-mode oxygen sensor control system reads constant feedback through fluctuation voltage or resistance signal of stock oxygen sensor. Smart-Tune-X identifies the sensor type and voltage range automatically. After alterations are being made to the fuel maps, oxygen sensor senses rich mix that would cause the ECU lean out the mix as opposed to our intent. Chip’s Oxygen Sensor control system overrides that restriction would be employed on the fuel trim by stock Electronic Control Module programming.
- Standard mode provides an average remap on the fuel trim whilst advanced lambda-mode guarantees zero restriction from the oxygen sensor on emission controlled car’s.
- The inbuilt oxygen sensor control system automatically identifies oxygen sensor signal type, probe material and range, ie. voltage- or resistance-based, narrowband or wideband, zirconium or titanium sensor. Depending on engine management type or performance parts preinstalled, check engine light (CEL) might be triggered in Lambda-Boost mode. If so, turn this function off.
In-built Auto Temp Compensation - ATC
Fine fuel trim adjustment ensures maximum Output. This is essentially what we achieve through the implementation of ATC. With automatic temperature compensation, the amount of fuel delivered to the combustion chamber is automatically corrected, so that new air to fuel mix remains optimum throughout engine operation. Even though the physical volume of fuel changes as its temperature changes, the energy value per gallon remains constant.

I awaited this tuner very much cos I couldn’t cope with lean fuel trims for a year now. An expert team of smartass guys made DPF delete and some turbo mods on this qsm 11 and through truck pulled better in low rpm range, it produced sign of lean mix beyond these rpms. Company bankrupted meanwhile and I stayed in the water being not sure whether Im at risk for running on less fuel. This tuner effectively added more fuel and all those adverse symptoms vanished in a wink of an eye. Wiring was super easy even for a rooky in ecu tuning, like myself. Truck fellows I do recommend this part with no reservation.

I have a custom built monster tow truck with maxxforce 10 and was craving for more power due to more gross weight than other trucks originally powered by his engine. It wired up with easy though dial and error setting is not a piece of cake when you need to find optimum maps. Overall the tuner works great and it managed to beef up my machine. Support was better than average, in respect of knowledge but phone center is missing.

Had issue to pay through paypal which i hate but associates were kind and guide me through the payment. Product arrived ahead of schedule and my guys could install it in matter of 2 hours but I have jitter when starting to adjust this tune box and a trove of trouble codes were tripped. Finally tech guys were of great help to me and truned out my damn installer tapped into the pressure sensor rather than to the inlet temp sensor as instructed by manual. I put the blme on magnum but I was barking the wrong tree and after correcting the wiring truck started to moe her ass. Better throttle response and notably more power under all circumstances.

Order went thru with ease and shipping was quite fast. Bit of a tight squeeze to hook up if you are not savvy with electronic gadget jobs but after rereading instructions ten times and emailing them three times I still could cope with installation. RV runs faster and what matters difference is notable uphill too! When gassing up a slight improvement is seen in mpg. Dazzling part coupled with unexpectedly proficient support albeit through email only, they don’t pick up the phone. I’d buy if needed.
