Mill Stables started retraining Racehorses in 2009 after Amanda and Matthew decided to leave their job of many years with Racehorse Trainer Ian Williams and set up their own Retraining and Livery yard.

They currently have 4 of their own former Racehorses out competing successfully in affiliated and RoR competitions. 

Over the last few years their horses have been winning and placed in the RoR Racehorse to Dressage Finals, RoR Ensign Eventing Challenges, RoR Tattersalls Show series and the Jockey Club Novice Ridden Show series, BD Regional and Area Championships, BE RoR sections and BS.

Amanda & Matt believe the versatility in training they can offer former Racehorses who come to them is what enables them to successfully retrain so many happy, confident horses in their new careers.

Mills Stables also offers short or long term schooling livery for ex Racehorses and their owners. Amanda and Matthew are dedicated to helping new owners of ex Racers who need help and support bringing on their horses. 

A lot of people now have ex Racehorses and find themselves struggling when it comes to retraining them. Mills Stables will not only get your ex Racehorse started on the right track for their new life outside of racing but will help owners understand why their ex Racehorses sometimes struggle or don't understand certain things during the retraining process.

Mills Stables always keeps spaces available for owners looking to send their horses away for Rehoming.

All horses will be assessed by Amanda and Matthew to see what homes they will be suitable for and anyone interested in either buying or rehoming a horse from Mills Stables must provide references.

All the horses who come to Mills Stables are treated as one of their own horses and given the utmost care, support, love and attention.
